Sometimes electrics react strangely to new eg headlight bulbs, dash cam,... also if any work was done that might allow water ingress somewhere? (not just near the head unit). Depending on how original you want to keep the car you may wish to replace it with another head unit + required cabling e.g. Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB or any number of others which other forum members have moved onto it.
