GeorgeS1993 Posted November 2, 2020 Report Share Posted November 2, 2020 Hi everybody Squeaky noise after about 10 miles into a journey so I took my 987 into my local porsche mechanic. They said its going to need a shim kit. Price and labour about 80 - 90 pound so seems very reasonable and I trust these guys with my cars so no issue there. Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue? Its only minor but interesting to know if this comes up regular with the 987s. Apologies if this has already been discussed. Thanks. Lennym1984 Posted November 3, 2020 Report Share Posted November 3, 2020 I'd hazard a guess that they have been removed at some point. They get stuck in the calipers and can get damaged on removal. I didn't bother refitting them on the rear of my Cayman (it has titanium shims anyway) and occassionally get a squeak when coming to a stop. Unless it is really annoying you, I'd just live with it.
