981 Servicing in or near to N Derbyshire

I'm in Bakewell and there seem to be a few others on here not too far away. Who do you use for 981 servicing that you would recommend? Over the last few years I've used OPC Wilmslow several times but become disillusioned with them. I've used OPC Sheffield once who IMHO were superb. But none of these are exactly convenient and if there was a little guy in a local village somewhere who is familiar with 981s and does a good job I'd love to know. A bit like an Audi specialist in Great Longstone who is brilliant, but I'm not sure he would know how to seamlessly remove and replace all the interior trim etc in my 981 to get at the oily bits without the problems that some inexperienced folks create. Any inputs welcome. Thanks!

I’m like you (near Buxton) I used Wilmslow for a bit but got disillusioned and started dealing with Sheffield, who I found somewhat better (though no means perfect).  My last exposure to OPC was with the new Stockport branch which I have found superb so far (early days).  I am in Warranty so will be sticking with OPC for now. Stockport I believe are the same franchise as Wilmslow so not encouraging for long term!

As far as I am aware the only Porsche indis within a reasonable distance are Revolution and Classic and Sports between Macc and Knutsford. Though the latter seems to have specialised more in classic Porsches the past few years

I think the most local "specialist" is https://www.pecarspecialists.co.uk/ I was going to look them up once I'm out of extended warranty so have no opinion of them as yet. I currently use Sheffield OPC who have been acceptable so far .

I've used Revolution in Birstall once, long way for mediocre work.

If you find anyone more local then let us know :)

Ive used Cavendish in Notts...(just off M1..not to far from you)  a couple of times but the owner is shall we say, "An acquired taste" ..and ive also used Revolution but now I take mine all the way down to CPS in Gloucester for anything other than an oil change.....Lee is a top top chap and the guys down there are second to none.

Slightly off topic...but we drive  from Leek to Buxton and then onto  Bakewell most Sundays in the summer for Breakfast...then back via Chatsworth...very nice drive.

I'm not far from you (Alfreton) and have been recommended Zentrum in Calverton and Cavendish for locals if that helps. it's one thing i'm yet to do is have a look around and price up servicing from the locals.

Always seem to hear most people do travel quite a way for servicing though. Local chap to me (Mansfield) with a 911 goes to DW in Northampton... so might be best to shop around a bit further...

Saying that I bought the car from Reading.... so I'm tempted to get a price from them too but will have to factor in the long drive !

I bought my 981 Boxter S last October and the 6 year service was due in 11/20.  Having agonised for weeks and spoken to various Indi’s I decided to entrust the major service to the guys at Cavendish Notts (I’m based in leicestershire).

they are x OPC Sutton Coldfield and very knowledgeable and I wasn’t disappointed.  I think what pleased me the most was the fact that they offered to paint my wheel nuts black and painted the wheel hubs too which makes them look amazing again.

sad I know but surely given the year we’ve all had it’s the little things that make the difference!

good luck with however you decide to go to.

Nice little touch that, sometimes it's those little things that stick in your mind to jog your memory of what great service you receive and makes you want to go back there. 👍
