I will be picking up my Boxster next week sometime. Looking for a recommended indoor/outdoor cover? I did a search and not much came up. There seems to be the generic fitted cover for about £75. is that the one to go for?

Hi and welcome, I Have one from Custom made covers at that price I think they are very good, I've used one for over 5 years no problem. Tip for you though if you do use one, your car needs to be clean before you put the cover on and your exhaust cold do not put it on until then. I take mine with me when I travel it rolls up and fits in the boot.

I have this: https://www.stormcarcovers.co.uk/collections/porsche/products/stormforce-car-covers-for-porsche?variant=610010081

I think it's great, but it's more money at £193. If kept well you can sell it on this forum when you're finished with it (I've seen several sell quickly for about 50% cost on here over the years). It's an outdoor cover, comes in a bag to store it in and fits brilliantly.

Bought mine 2.5 years ago from

carscovers.co.uk SKU:CCC3370

£166

with a 2 years warranty.

The first cover disentegrated under the UV light and they replaced it without a quibble. Second one is much better with no issues thus far.

safe and sound

How thick are these covers. I am asking that in regards to protecting the car from cats. Would it protect the soft top from cat clawing at the roof?

yes it would. They good ones are 3 or 4 layer, so allowing the moisture to evaporate. Depends on your pussy though - is it soft and cuddly or Sher Khan 😂😂😂

I've not experienced this personally, but the material is about as thick as the soft side of a piece of velcro. I'd say it would be fine but depends on how determined your cat is!

What model and year is the cat?

They're breathable, snug fitting (minimal movement), have fixing straps under the car (helps if you put a tennis ball on them as you can then throw them across the underside of the car) and are UV filtered. If you put your car away clean and dry they don't sweat of leave marks, even in the wind. In my experience.

I got my cover from 'Specialized covers'

www.specialisedcovers.com

No the cheapest, but certainly very tough and breathable. Again like the others, has 3 securing straps (2 on sides, 1 front to back)

This is a tailored to fit cover (although this photo was only me trying it and not fitting it properly), the Cayman would be slightly different for example. They also do indoor and outdoor covers too. 👍

Hi

I spotted a cover during a previous lurk and can't for the life of me find it again, or remember where I saw it!

It was a smaller one that only covered the roof/windscreen area, £150 or so.

Any help finding it would be appreciated! :)

I got one when I collected my car, blimey, over 5 and a half years ago. It's a quality thing although I largely stopped using it after a couple of years when it became apparent that my local birds had all become (a) beligerent and (b) incontinent. I have a full cover now for most of the year but still use the Cabrioshield occasionally.
