Prices for available cars in the OPCs right now are very healthy.

Was over in Glasgow OPC during the week and was speaking to one of the salesmen he said that they had never sold as many cars in a month as they have this month he said they were flying out the door all down to COVID apparently and the easing of restrictions.

Can’t work it out. COVID has brought financial wows to many and yet house prices through the roof and prestige cars such as our beloved Porsche are holding value incredibly well 😳🤔

The madness continues.

OK, I paid an inflated price for my CGTS. I'm aware, and I'm happy with that.  It was exactly what I was looking for, great spec, outstanding prep that probably worth 4k alone, and the car looks 6months old.

Every OPC advertised car since seems to get more and more expensive.  This last one, makes me thing there in an inter-OPC bet on to see who can get the most.

2015 CGTS in Green, OK spec..........£58,000.  Around list price for a 5-6yr old car.  Depreciation, deschmeeciation!?

Buy a Porsche Cayman GTS used at the Porsche Centre Leicester

The GTS tax is really getting out of hand now. Shan't complain though it drags them all up with it. These are great cars that aren't in production anymore they deserve to rise in value I'm keen to keep mine even when I decide to get another Porsche.

I bought a Golf R to sit alongside mine,I need something that's still fun but under the radar.

Have you seen the very rare green s at Glasgow, 41.5k asking, 2013 and 30k on it.

Any one tips on what to watch out for on the 981s

You've got warranty and on the whole these are reliable cars but check out my youtube vids starting with this one:

Check your sports exhaust is functioning with your ears and do your best at handover to check your brakes are in good condition.

Interesting.  I need to think about changing my company car (2018 Audi 3.0 TDi S line Avant) for something else.  Most of my colleagues are going Tesla/Polestar, but I really don't fancy plus I tow a box traler with x2 bikes in regularly to track days so that's the leccy car out of juice by the county border...

I can opt out and buy something which got me looking at the RS4, but that and the GTS is a bit OTT.. Looking for inspiration and so far I've got a Golf GTI Club Sport (assuming I can tow with it) in mind - my wife likes Golfs too, so that's an easy sell.

Nice problem to have I know...

Buying from an OPC you should have 2 years warranty so no real worries.  @daz05 youtube videos are very good, as he says the PSE valves are a weak point and the aircon condensers behind the bumper each side.  Otherwise the cars are pretty solid, expect to allow around £1.5k a year for maintenance if you keep with the dealer network.

£1.5k sounds a bit high I'd say if it's just routine maintenance as the service intervals are every 2 years  (assuming you're not doing loads of miles) with a minor in between the majors.  Local indy said apart from the cabin & intake filters a minor was just oil & filter plus the service reminder re-set..

We all know Porsche know how to charge mind, so just be mindful if going the OPC service route and ask about.

It is possibly a bit high, but I've just had a 6 year service which is an interim (engine oil and filter, cabin filters and general checkover) with a few extras - polybelt change, engine air filters and brake fluid.  I didn't get much change from £1k.  OPC because I have so far kept the car under warranty - that works out at around £550 per year alone, a personal choice but I'm 'in profit' so far having had new PSE and new aircon condensers.  Then allow for new tyres every few years and the odd extra something going wrong etc, etc.  It all adds up.

Most have probably done pretty well out of Lockdown financially, reduced commuting, no foreign holidays, reduced entertainment spending. I think economists have calculated that there is about £200B extra money sat in people’s accounts ready to splurg once restrictions go. Strap in, cos the rest of this year is going to be quite a ride.
