half in the front, half in the back, my 70kg somewhere in the middle. Didnt seem a problem in the end, no less so than giving a lift to my 20 stone work colleague every other day with his sandwiches in the boot.

Just how big is his lunchbox?

find it odd when people discuss weights in cars and they think of suitcases but not human beings.

Indeed, I have been given well meaning words of caution  when loading  up a 7 seater MPV with 5 of the seats taken out, with 12 bundles of board at 25kg a bundle and a few other bits and pieces.

nope. Its a car, it carry's stuff, i wash it when its dirty.

Agreed! My Boxster has taken more stuff to the dump than the previous Golf Cabriolet as it held more stuff without using passenger seats. I used a stout plastic sheet to protect the trim so no damage. (The look on the lads helping old folk like me were astonished when after unloading the boot, I opened 'the bonnet' and emptied that as it holds just as much as the boot.)
