Alarm going off!!

Low voltage on the car battery can cause this. Thing is, low voltage does not necessarily mean the car won't start - it still would. Anything below 12v can send the electrics haywire. If you have a multimeter, check the battery voltage. In the meantime, you should be be able to lock the car with the key only.

Car started first time. Will check voltage in morning. Car has not really been driven much in last few weeks.

Low battery or wet alarm module.

Battery go BoschS S4 or S5, or Yuasa 5000 and switch to a 110 from a 096 (to get higher cold crank amps) seem to be the common trends on here. CP4L have a holiday discount code or Tayna Batteries have a good rep for price and delivery.

Also the siren itself has a battery - which charges from the main battery.  When that degrades it constantly tries to charge itself , causing a drain on the main battery until it goes low enough to trigger the siren.

aome folks just unplug the siren (which can lead to the alarm double beeping when you arm it)

a PIWIS diagnostic tool can read back what caused the last few alarm activations if you have can get it to someone / an Indy with the right kit.

Next to the battery under the plastic panels. I think to the passenger side of the car.

I think it also contains the tilt sensor for the alarm

un plugging is simply that - it’s a single connector.  As I say you may get a warning when you lock the car with it disconnected.
