Interesting what you say about the Dyno and manual. I just did some research and it seems you need a 4 wheel dyno to get a proper reading from PDK, as the front wheels not moving confuses the system. Every day is a school day!

Yeah I tried to get mine remapped but there was no chance. The car just took over even in manual mode when the rear wheels got up to speed with the front wheels stationary.  A bit of googling whilst the guys scratched their heads revealed what the issue was.  As you say every day, school day.

There are a few four wheel dynos around that could do the job but I decided I wasn’t that in need of more power to need to seek them out.

Finally got hold of a new bonnet badge. Went to remove the old one, stuck fast with a thick layer of glue!! Got it all off, took paint with it, not the end of the world I thought as new badge will cover it.

Fitted new one and it doesn't sit in the same place! Now im left with a right mess.

Help!!! What would you do? Absolutely gutted, right before Beaulieu. ???

Strange!  They should only fit in one place as far as I know.   Can you put the old one back on for now?

Or get the glue off with some solvent and polish the area up a bit...

Yep, absolutely sheared off. There was a disturbingly loud bang as the left hand side came off of it's runner! Was an absolute nightmare to remove the clamshell as just couldn't get access on the right hand side and at that point I didn't know what was wrong

Yikes!  What’s the plan to fix that?

Painted the top hats and re-fitted my Sport Classics refurbished by Excel Wheels. Had quite a strong desire to paint the balance weights to match the wheels, this OCD is catching ?

    Looks great ?

If you had extreme OCD you would have asked Excel to paint and laquer the wheel weights to match the wheels before fitting and then balancing them ??

No, tact is your superpower (and not mine) :(

:) yes I aim to be Incredibly tactful ?

I have just realised there is a whole bunch of new emoticons available on the forum - at least on my laptop browser!  Forum software update I presume... there are even skin tones which is interesting - I don't think I have seen that option before!

Took it out of the garage, cleaned it inside and out with the new microfibre kit - works well! Fitted the Boxster S badges back on the boot (painted black)then it started to rain so put it back again ?

Wrong forum!  You were so incensed by not driving today your perception is skewed clearly :P

Got up early and detailed the car... Wash, clay bar, de-tar, machine polish (2 stage 3M Green and Blue), Polished and sealed and waxed. Looking pretty good for an 18 year old car!

Not had it long, and it needed a lot of work, but really pleased with the outcome. Took it for a drive this evening and loved every minute of it, roof down, sunshine, birds singing and winding country roads. Not sure there's a better way to end a weekend! Here's a few photo's I took along the way...

I'd like to make a dent in him with something more than a tennis ball but he's 6'3 and he'd batter me. Sorry goes a long way but he couldn't even do that.

Family!   How did he dent the car with a tennis ball?  Will he not get this sorted for you?

Cool those covers look great.  my god @rowbos those spare wheels on the wall look great, are they for a 986?  What are they and what sort of size?

They are rather nice wheels I agree :)

    They are my summer wheels.

19" Spyder -  Not sure if they would fit a 986?  @CliveH had a set for sale if you are interested...

That’s a nightmare, had that happen to me before on other cars and they don’t even have the decency to leave a note and admit to it or pay for the damage :(

Same.   It’s happened to me more than once with the worst case being my front passenger wing and door being caved in by someone reversing into it then driving off.  B’Stards.

@Sazzy I hope you get it sorted, just don’t let it ruin your week.

Will do, it’s a 21st birthday prezzi for my daughter, but truth be told I will drive it more than her and it’s currently in need of some tlc, so I’ve finally got myself a project.

Reminds me of when she was 5, I bought her a scalalextric, I think she’s cottened on to me now,  she just humours me. ?

Good plan, I need to do the same for my son :)  though knowing him I would never see it!  I did buy him a Playstation with Gran Turismo + steering wheel and a Scalextric set when he was 6 months old - that worked well!

How comes I can see the photos? Just says “please update your account”

That would be Photobuckets attempt to extort cash out of everyone...

Many forums have lost photos to this fairly recent change at PB.

There is a hack for Chrome to display photos still - I have not used this and can not recommend it - up to you if you want to install...
