Good stuff
I stood in the frunk to do mine
it’s quite heavy
Did you put anything in the frunk to stand on and spread the load? I'd be slightly concerned about damaging the floor otherwise?

Or flickr.com ...

Mine hasn't got locking wheel nuts, so the new ones will be pointing towards the tyre valves instead...
Just out of interest, is there a special technique or tool for removing the centre caps without scratching them?
I use a small allen key to carefully pull mine off the wheel from the front...

Carbontastic! I'd like to see your car in the flesh sometime...
You should change your avatar to give it a carbon superhero theme

Now that is a great winter storage setup 😎
Let's see the 993 when its back on the road...

These sort of intermittent issues are such a pain.
That is a great micro switch explanation though 👍
Good luck with sorting...

That looks carbontastic and a worthy addition to your BE 😎

Rare cars need a register 😎
This is something I did for limited edition BMW successfully albeit BMW are more proactive in providing / confirming information than Porsche (who won't tell you a thing). I don't know how many officially where made for the UK market (C16) or what spec each had (other than they were black lol) so I thought I would start off a database to capture that data by car........
Most of the data will inevitably come from cars for sale on Autotrader etc.... and I will try to keep an eye out for these but if you own one or see one for sale not on the list please let me know the specs.....I will try to keep the first post updated with the latest data as it builds 👍
ps this thread can also be used for all things 987 Black Edition ie cars for sale etc....if you do post up links be careful the don't include your full postcode ie just stating xxxxx for sale on Autotrader should be enough 😉
According to ...

85 in total registered between 2010 - 2011 and 78 manual and auto of that era still registered?
Mine is number 232/987 and has everything I wanted - PDK, PSE, Heated Sports Seats, SC+, Bose, Sport Design Steering Wheel, Park Assist Rear, Guards Red Seat belts, Telephone Module. No PASM...

Back on topic..........I have an afternoon booked in with Wayne Schofield to remap the 987 tomorrow, forecast is good, its a decent run to get there, can;t wait to see what magic he can work on the 987.2 engine. I’ll take plenty of pics and outline the day with him for those interested. If you’ve never had a proper live remap done before by someone who is regarded as the go to man for Porsche race teams ......its an interesting day to say the least .......
Looking forward to seeing the process and results from your remap day - in your usual detailed fashion Jon 😎

Great write up and a very fine result 😎

So after giving the fresh exhaust paint a few days (and heat cycles) to cure it was time to polish them and the surrounding trim / diffusor....
For the exhaust I hand polished, sealed and waxed and for the trim I cleaned / panel wiped and sealed with GTechniq C4 Trim restorer....
a reminder of the before.....
and the completed after......
there is no sign yet of the gloss matting down after the heat cycles and if anything it has cured / hardened glossier :thumb:Very nice 😎
Mine don’t look as bad as your starting position but they are a little pitted.

I think she's still peeved that she's been left out of the edit in previous years, so decided the best way of making sure she made the cut ...

Haha, is that what you're blaming for your slight tail-happiness when you left?
Was Sazzy showing off again for the cameras? 😌

Even after 2 years? Yes local, £65 a wheel. I'm not sure, but something tells me he mentioned a years guarantee at the time ....
Sure, don't go in all guns blazing, just pop back and ask him to take a look and see what he thinks and that you were hoping with the minimal miles that you do the finish would last a bit longer...

Just the one wheel as far as I can see. Not sure I really want to go back to the same place now though. Disappointing.
Was it somewhere local to you @Sazzy? How much did you pay for the refurb? Understand your disappointment but I’d probably go back to see what their reaction was...

I like the look of that lift, looks very safe and expensive?
I looked those up a while back when someone mentioned the make. I think they were around £1K from memory. Very cool looking bit of kit...

Following a recommendation on this forum I got hold of one of these >> Amazon Link << - it's a Trombone Brush and works really well.
Having dodged a bullet with blocked drains early last year I use it during the Autumn/Winter to make sure they're clear - it's a zero fuss job with this.
I use the same. Quick and easy to do.

I use Flickr - I have an account specifically for embedding photos for this forum (other forums are available)... that way I don't mix personal photos with online photos...
