  1. Ashley exhausts, thatโ€™s a blast from the past! They built me a 4โ€ tipped back box for my MG Metro, it looked ridiculous but I was about 18 and it was the thing ๐Ÿ˜‚ it sounded awesome but it did actually melt on of the hydroelastic suspension pipes resulting in my car being on the floor when I came out the gym ๐Ÿ˜ฉMy mechanic had to jack it up and wedge a couple of wooden blocks under the arms so I could carefully drive it home for repair ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I was surprised when I contacted Rennlens. Although their website lists most 981 headlights as โ€œIn Stockโ€ thatโ€™s not strictly true. Basically they are made to order for an exchange which Iโ€™m going to do. Takes them 3 days and obviously they have orders. So Iโ€™m now booked in on the 10th June. ๐Ÿ‘

It may be me holding them up as I havenโ€™t sent mine back yet ๐Ÿ˜‚ Mine were in stock as far as I know? Maybe different ones are more popular.

  3. The part numbers will be for the pair but I would recommend getting the exhaust cover as well so you get a complete fresh look. If you order from the main dealer they can parts diagram up and order you the correct parts you need ๐Ÿ‘

  4. Sad news and I hope you get it sorted without it being too painful (expensive).

What a bastard as you were enjoying yourself on the track, I will interested to hear what the issue is as it was recently serviced and even though you would have been pushing hard I doubt you were anywhere near the carโ€™s limits.ย

    Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคžย

  5. If youโ€™re not too fussed on the switching option you could find a non PSE exhaust and take it to Hayward and Scott and get them to do there bypass mod. Itโ€™s about ยฃ450, sounds awesome but more factory PSE sound that the top gear that Iโ€™m guessing youโ€™re trying to change. There was a cheap pair of non PSE back boxes for sale on here last week.

I think this maybe a good option as PSE is quite tame in non sports mode but when you switched the sports button you would get the pops and bangs๐Ÿ˜Ž

There is a YouTube video of the exhaust mod and sound if search it.

Fitted some mesh to the front grilles. Bl**dy fiddly and took hours but happy with the result.ย p8hXWQz.jpeg

    Well done ๐Ÿ‘ย

They look great and far more subtle than the Zunnies๐Ÿ˜Ž

  7. Thatโ€™s a shame about the thread as I followed Bertys thread when I fitted mine.

Did you find out if you need bigger couplers or stretch your original ones, I really canโ€™t remember. Iโ€™ve got a feeling I stretched the original ones as in Bertys thread Iโ€™m sure he used the 3.4 ones but used some tape on the one end as it was too big and I donโ€™t remember messing with tape.

  8. Been out for a quick run in the sun with the bride and it gave me chance to test the new steering wheel and also see what the Alcantara lower dash looked like in the sun โ˜€๏ธย

I just need to get the door grabs professionally covered as my poor attempt leaves a lot to be desired ๐Ÿ˜‚

I tried the Chipex.... its not greatย ๐Ÿ˜…ย The colour match is spot on, but the 'blending solution' just doesnt work, it pulls the paint out of the chip you've just filled. Resorted to wet sanding each filled chip with 3000 grit and polishing out. Not the end of the world but was ยฃ40 for the kit. I'd probably just buy colour matched paint from Porsche next time.ย

Try dr colour chip next time and use some solvent panel wipe to clean the chips before you start. It is the same principle as Chipex but it actually works ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  10. Just been for a quick blast around in mine as it sunny here and no creaks or rattles in mine and I recently had the dashboard in bits๐Ÿ˜‚

Are the noises more when the roof is up or down. I would have a look at the roll bar covers, check the wind deflector is seated properly and pop the bonnet check the plastic trim that covers the battery is all clipped in.

  11. No I sold the side pods and just grilled the original ones.

Ive been adding the Alcantara lower dash and I even ended up changing the steering wheel (again) fourth wheel in this car๐Ÿ˜‚

    with wheel number 3

    And wheel number 4๐Ÿ˜Ž

The Alcantara is definitely warmer than the leather and I think it feels great on the steering wheels ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  12. I m a big fan of PASM, quite underrated on the forum but I think it is perfect for our crappie UK roads.

I noticed a big difference going from a 986 to a 987.1 with PASM, but found the Sport setting way too firm but as the PASM is permanently active it is adjusting all the time in non Sport mode.

When I had my 987.2 I managed to find a used DSC controller for a reasonable price and wow what a difference that made! It made the suspension a lot more responsive and adjusted to give you the best ride possible, so much so that I used to drive everywhere in Sport mode as it was firm but controlled adjusted and kept the ride compliant even on bumpy roads.

    Very very impressive ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜Ž

7mm front 15mm rear on my old PASM 987.1

You can go a touch lower than the standard PASM height but I canโ€™t remember how low or if you need special springs.

Personally if would want to improve your PASM the best money you can spend is on a DSC PASM controller but they are expensive and wonโ€™t make your car any lower ๐Ÿ˜‚
