Looking forward to seeing some pics of it!
They are special cars and like you when I had my Black Edition I was obsessed by the 987 Spyder and pinching ideas of it 😂
Nothing has changed today really I’m doing similar with the 981😂

Mine had gone flat in the garage and I couldn’t get in the drivers side to access the fuse box also I hadn’t got any thing use to power up bonnet release.
Yes there is a emergency pull cord in your passenger front wheel well behind all of the plastic liners, I found out about it online was led to believe it was on the drivers side hence I ended stripping both wheel wells 😩
When I finally got to my battery and put the charger on, the car was doing weird things, lights flashing odd noises and there was a burning plastic smell. I think the smell was actually from my antique battery charger 😂 but I thought better safe than sorry and ordered a new battery. I fitted it and everything powered up as normal no warning lights or anything I just had to reset the clock 👍

Sounds like a decent result and at least you didn’t end having to strip the front wheel well to find the pull cord like I had to which wasn’t fun😩
My battery was a banner battery but I got a varta replacment for about £180 delivered next day 👍

Sounds nice 👌

I think you did really well and the ceramic coating is the right choice.
I paint for a living and use 2k lacquer daily but through a spray gun, even I can’t get a decent finish out of a spray can.
I agree with the comments that sanding it that smooth wouldn’t help, also heating the can and the light up with a heat gun or hairdryer might of helped it go on a bit smoother.
I doubt a lot of the YouTube videos of the spray can finish lights are great in the flesh but the ceramic coating is definitely the way forward. It should help stopping them fade back and if they do it would only be a light sand or polish to bring them back 👍- 1

Checked the battery today and it states 2013.
I think it's time for a replacement. Not sure if I will go for the official route after my quote of £420 coded and fitted.
I had the dreaded flat battery on Sunday and after a lot of messing around to get to the battery found it had gone.
Ive changed mine over today and no faults or issues, 20 minute job and £180 for a Varta battery on next day delivery 👍
Mine also looked to be the original Porsche battery from 2012 😩

I think the wheels will look great in that colour, that is my favourite of the gold.
I will be interested in seeing the GT4 style bumper with the gold wheels, I think you may need to look into spacers to beef up the look to match the more aggressive bumper 👍

My windows didn’t drop even using the key, I’m still not sure how I managed to open the passenger door by lifting the hood as it is very solid 🤔

Not today but yesterday I had the dreaded flat battery 😩 Self inflicted really as I had robbed the plug off my ctek and forgotten to replace it and put the car on trickle💩
Now after a bit of head scratching and internet research I tried to get in the car, fortunately it wasn’t locked but the window wouldn’t drop but I did manage to open the passenger door. Happy days I thought, pop it on the ctek and I’m back in business? No the ctek wasn’t having it in the cigar lighter, just wouldn’t charge 🤔 So I needed to get to the battery but the drivers wouldn’t open with the window up so I couldn’t access the fuse box to do the jump trick. I decided there must be an emergency cable for the bonnet and found a foreign video online demonstrating it but it was a left hand drive car and the cable was on the left hand side. I decided the rhd must be on the right and even checked online “yes it is on the drivers side of a rhd car” after removing the wheel and stripping the wheel arch I can confirm it is on the passenger side of our right hand drive cars!!🤬 I eventually managed to pop the bonnet after doing the same on the passenger side and accessing the battery. I thought I’m on the home straight here! Nope it appears my battery is Donald ducked so a new one is on order!
The moral of the story is keep your battery charged and don’t pinch the plug like I did, also I’m not sure what you would of done if the locking wheel bolts would have been fitted as the key bolt would have been in the front boot 😩

Like I’m up for that , the Carnewal I’ve just done , has lifted the ephemeral experience quite a bit.
Put a post on the forum re Bridgenorth run
It would be nice to see you and your new car👍
Be interesting if you think it feels a bit bigger on the tighter twistys, I think they do but you can still fire them round the corners. The PDK is fantastic as you can keep both hands on the wheel while you’re white knuckling 😂
Hopefully the weather will be a dryer than the Christmas breakfast meet which was very wet☔️

And equally everything thing has a price but I couldn’t stand by it , until I know it’s right, hence servicing the gear box was a starting point
Mine needs the gearbox service this year 😩

New boots all round , massive reduction on the Ackerman and greatly reduced road noice , replaced heavily worn P zero,s with Kuhmo ecsta 91
I m bit late to this thread but have you bought this 981 as a keeper or to sell on?
Im just a bit confused as the last thing I saw was a nice fresh paint job on the 987😂

Looks really good, not cheap but definitely worth it 👌

Bead sealant 😂

You can also get a porous alloy wheel which will leak air, not very common but does happen.
Rim leak as mentioned above can be a issue but normally more common on older cars normally Japanese.
My money is still on the valve or the valve core not being tightened enough.
I always end up tightening the valve cores on mine after they have been for a refurbishment, there is a thin line between over tightening them and not tightening them enough but worth checking 👍

I had some of their front splitters on my 987.1 , they were their sport edition style.
The quality and fit was excellent 👍

Remap 987s
in 987
I ve had my last two Boxsters re mapped and never had any check lights.
I did have my 981 go in to limp mode when we road tested it but he just plugged the laptop back in and made some adjustments and never had any issues. That was 2 years ago and still running beautifully 😎👌

I have this problem daily and tend to whack them with the heel of my boot. It normally works 8-10 times, then it is the rubber mallet of that fails then it is the mechanics copper hammer on the inside with a piece of wood to protect the rim.
