If you’ve got bubbling (corrosion) they need powder coating, i run a mobile wheel van and get asked this question daily 😩

I’ve got a set of brand new matt black PORSCHE rear letters for sale, replicas but very good.
Ive had the same ones on mine for the last 12 months with no issues.

I bought a set of fronts with pads and sensors from AUTODOC.
I still need to check they are the correct ones but I think they are 😂

Why what was putting you off?
Just finishing of removing the scoops and refinishing the oem trims. I trimmed and fitted a bit of mesh.
I’m quite happy with the results and saved a few quid replacing them.
This one of the angles where the GT4 scoops look awkward.
Nice to have that oem black vent back to break up the white 👍

Umm I think they look good from certain angles and a bit awkward from others. It is the same on the GT4 but I think with the wing and the fact it is a GT4 you can sort of forgive them.
The angle I see them from the most when it is parked in the garage is a solid no also I think my white car needs the black vents to brake up the side.
I was out in it on Sunday and walking back to it on the carpark I thought they have got to go 👍

I noticed there is a guy on eBay who modifies these lights and fits all black inserts etc😎

How did you repair them - holes in plastic isn't that straightforward ususally...
I was a bit dubious myself but it worked out okay, I used a two pack glue to fill the holes. Then sanded it, primed it, black texture spray and then a coat of satin plastic lacquer.
This is the other one with the glue applied and ready to sand.
The first one looks pretty good 👌😎

Around £240 + the vat
You could potentially buy some carbon ones from China for £160 and either leave them carbon or paint them black. I’ve got the plastic repair stuff on the van so it was a free repair 😂

After much deliberation I decided to remove the GT4 side scoops and go back to oem with a bit of mesh.
But before I get to the mesh I need to repair the holes in the original side vent. I had originally thought I would just buy new if I changed my mind but that was until I saw the price 😂
One all repaired and ready to fit and one ready for the repair treatment 😎

They are all valid points and everyone is different, Neil has a phobia for loud exhausts me I like to embrace the barble and crackles 😂👌
If the OP is in any doubt about the PSE maybe meet up with a local member who has one and hear it for yourself. The sound and the feel from the exhaust doesn’t really come across on the YouTube videos, far better in person 😎
-
I was in the same position as you and sucked it up and bought the PSE.
It sounds fantastic and probably the best money you can spend on the 981S, totally transforms the car’s character 😎
I had a Topgear exhaust a few cars ago and although it is good value it doesn’t compare to the PSE on my old 987.2 or my current 981👍

I was out in mine today running my mom around on Mother’s Day and I have to say the standard bumper with my latest splitter on it looks awesome. I think is gives the front a bit more aggression with out trying to hard and matches the factory styling.
I do like the GTS front bumper and think it looks great but it is an expensive option.
I think the Spyder rear spoiler and the Spyder rear diffuser make a huge difference and definitely worth looking into.I’m still on the fence about the GT4 side scoops, one day I really like them and other days I’m not sure 🤔 I will see what they look like on a sunny day with the roof down and see what I think. Today I liked them 😂

Hi there
I’ve tried two different front splitters and two rear diffusers.
If you find my thread in members rides there are some decent pictures 👍

I removed the original spoiler after taking some pictures of the gaps. I fitted the brackets in the lower position but left them very slightly loose for adjustment. I placed the spoiler on the brackets and wiggled it till the gaps looked correct, then carefully removed it and tightened them up. I then opened the boot refitted the spoiler and secured it with its screws but bear in mind the screws can alter the overall position. So it will be a trail and error until you get it correct. Apart from the gaps on the top it is also important how it fits and flows out of the top of the bumper.
I fitted mine and was happy but after studying pictures online and talking to Daz adjusted it some more to correct the position coming out of the bumper.
It will all make sense once you’re doing it. Not difficult but a bit time consuming but it is amazing the difference it makes if it isn’t quite right 👍😎

Should be interesting, I’ve seen several good reviews from the states but most of them seemed to be on the 2.7 so it will be interesting to see how it does on the 3.4
My remap definitely livened mine up but they didn’t make any adjustments to the PDK.
I know the PSE exhaust sounds amazing after the remap 😂

It looks the same as what I used and the same as on those mini trims.
I had some Spyder splitters on my 987 and they came with some 3m tape on them and they were mega sticky and never came loose. That’s why I wonder if there are different types even though they look the same, as everything with it pre installed seems stronger.

The Ebay ones are on my car, I'm finding the double sided tape a bit hit and miss at the top end of the scoop.
I was at Poersche reading today and had a good look at a GT4. The genuine side scoops are wafer thin by comparison to the chunkier ebay ones (that still look good, mind).
Mine are secured, so can't fall off in theory, but the fit, although initially looking perfect and snug, seem to relax along the top horizontal edge after a week or so.
The Ebay scoops have a slight channel of 1mm that the tape is meantt to locate in and then stick to the body panel. However the 3M tape is only 1.1mm thick which is less than ideal. I can get 1.5mm thick tape, but its a 6 week delivery time apparently. I'm going to try double layers of tape to alleviate that problem.
I think the tape varies. I believe my tape to be genuine 3m stuff and mine seems to be holding.
But I fitted some black trims to the wife’s mini the other day and they were secured with 3m red tape and my god that stuff was sticky! If you didn’t get it on correct first time there was no way you could remove it and have another go. This stuff was super sticky, if I could find some tape like that I would be happy they would never come off 😂

@Lonewolfgjp you are getting close to betraying the Brotherhood and giving away the key to Man Maths - just go for the full fat JCW, I mean, how does that add up?
😂 It was just easier to find a JCW with all the bits on rather than a Cooper S that I end up spending Boxster modding money on 😂

Looks good in red! Had one in BRG with a white roof prior to my current GRY. I had the Black Pack fitted as it felt like there were a few too many colours going on to have chrome as well - looked a lot better I thought. I too had the smaller wheels and non run flat tyres - surprisingly few seem to have these.
Glad you like it 👍
Shes really pleased with it and I’m pleasantly surprised how well it goes and drives. The smaller wheels and spec we’re just by chance as it was the condition and the colour that caught her eye but I think the smaller wheels and non run flats maybe a blessing as one of the criticisms I found online was the ride was a bit stiff. This one rides fine, not too firm or noisy. It’s nice to see her interested and enjoying her car after years of driving dull company cars. Although she isn’t looking forward to paying for it 😂

Well I haven’t done much with my 981 but I could do with checking my new brake discs and pads from AUTODOC are correct 😩 They have been in the garage for months and I haven’t got round to fitting them!
My 981 has had a couple of runs up to Derby to arrange and collect a car for my wife. Her company car is going back and after a lot of options she decided on a Mini but it had to have the JCW body kit and this that and the other. After trolling through Cooper S models she decided to just go with the full fat JCW.
This was what we found and it was in great condition but needed a slight polish and a bit of de chromeing.
One week later after a bit of tickle with the polisher and a few parts. Looks fantastic and the bride loves it 😂
You know what they say happy wife happy life😎

I was surprised by the quality and the shape. The finish is that good you could literally just fit them, you normally get rough edges and poor finish on this type of thing. I would trust the tape that is supplied but that is easily solved 👍

What have you done to your 981 today?

The car is looking great 👌
Love Agate grey very classy!
I paid about £370 for mine but I did have a tame guy in the parts department at Porsche Wolves, sadly he has moved on 😩
