  1. Want to be 100% sure, get it on a decent code reader.

Reading the table , 4th column , /L = LEFT / R= RIGHT (When sitting in car) + Model Year (with the dash signifying that year and onwards)

2nd column is the associated part number.

Buy from a Porsche Centre if going new or a reputable salvager on the Bay of E.

    Don't bother with third-party parts.

Solved, by “parking” the buckle into the aperture from which the belt exits :)

I keep mine high enough with the plastic adjuster on the seatbelt, just slide it up high enough.

  3. First suggestion would be get a passenger to help confirm/identify where a given noise is coming from.

Also noises aren’t always coming from where you expect them to be from. They can bounce around the cabin.

    Ok update.

Car with Belfast for 5 weeks. No communications. I rang, got the message that nobody was available and they would call back. That didn't happen. Rang again yesterday and eventually the call was returned. New gearbox required - £8,500. Out of warranty so down to me. I asked about Goodwill from Porsche and the lady advised that as the car is older than 6, that's not an option. She said something about having to apply about special circumstances and would I like them to do that. Really? Of course I would like them to. So still none the wiser. Also, unsure if it is an exchange replacement, whether the £8,500 is the cost of the 'box or a fitted price. The saga rumbles on...

I'd suggest get written/emailed quotes for clarity, you then know what you are dealing with. If you get the box part numbers on those conversations you can then get clarity on exchange vs new box.

If it were mine and out of warranty I'd also be looking for a gearbox specialist to see if a repair is an option.

Re the seal that’s a “kidney” for the hard top from Porsche. I am not familiar with the hardtop or the profile / shape of the seal but I just replaced the boot seal on wife’s car with one from these folks.

they appear to have a number of seal profiles on the shelf - and just perhaps there’s something in their catalog that would help.

    worth a call perhaps. ?

No affinity.  Just a happy customer for a seal for a daily driver.

    Handy site, ta for sharing.

I'll most likely, definitely, outsourcing this to my local garage with detailed instructions.  Fortunately they dropped the subframe last year when replacing the left coffin arm.

I'd like to not spend the 200 quid for those pipes if not needed.

I'll check pricing around since I'm based in New Zealand.  I've found cars245 have consistently provided the best overall price including shipping.

I had the lot refreshed on my 987.2.

If I was going to pay for it,  I'd save up, do the lot and get the parts from Porsche not a third party.

Anyone local to Notts / Derbys who is confident fitting these, I like the idea just not confident enough to take apart my pcm.

Mine is just the basic pcm no sat nav or bose??

Do you have a PCM 3.1 or a CDR-31 (radio with CD)?

Post a pic of your head unit if you're unsure.

Car was fine from Thursday-today when all issues returned…

The issues being the return of codes 8004, 8005 and 8006 or do you mean something else ?

I'll wager the PCM wasn't coded out out the car with a Porsche PIWIS when the head unit was replaced.
