I think that this set is better/easier to use than the one that you have suggested.
Interesting , not seen that style before.

I had the rear blowing while going out with friends, no gunk could help, since I carry a spare wheel so can help myself out of troubles.
Personal take I'd be calling the AA/RAC/Porsche Assist/GreenFlag etc at that point.
I dislike the gunk approach but would use it if I have to.
I went for a 2nd hand Porsche scissor jack and the tyre plug approach if I can/have to self-heal it.
-
Friendlier on the passenger, as long as you don't aim it at them.
Probably also needs a low profile scissor jack in play to be able to get access/purchase depending where the issue is on the tyre.

I have changed these myself 3 times on the 986S I had. I learned that its not worth buying pattern parts as they do not last and often the window drop is not correct on them either.
Thought I would ask a couple of Porsche "Specialists" that are local for quotes.
Now, the Regulator from Porsche is £291 inc vat which of course means D911 quote that amount plus vat 😆
The first Specialist quoted me £503 all in.. the job itself is about an hour. One big difference between the 986 and the 987 is there is no membrane that you need to replace anymore. Porsche replaced it with an reusable aluminium panel that is held in with 8 screws. I had a look at a couple of "How to" videos on Youtube and apart from the aluminium panel it seems exactly the same to do as the 986, so I had already decided to do the job myself and save the extra £200.I got an email back from the other so called "Specialist" telling me they would have to "replace the inner door membrane as it works out more cost effective than to clean and reseal the old one" and the total cost all in would be £763.39 for them to do the job. I did send a reply saying that it was strange they were quoting for a membrane when there is not one to replace 😆
That is special.

There’s something called a rear control unit under the UK passenger seat, possibly your driver seat, which does that kind of thing. First place to look?

Lifted from http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/59889-coolant-light-blinking.html
1. Engine coolant level too low
— light flashes slowly (0.5 Hz)
2. Engine compartment temperature too high
— light flashes slowly (0.5 Hz) (engine compartment blower might be faulty)
3. Engine coolant temperature too high
— light is lit; pointer on the right
4. Temperature sensor at water outlet faulty
— light flashes rapidly (1 Hz); pointer on the right -
Got some updated navi maps.

Correct. If you are lucky, a 12 point 10mm socket will give enough purchase to get them undone.
Or it's an excuse to buy another set of tools. I got a set of E's from Eurocarparts for about a tenner, plenty of cheap options out there...
-
And the workshop manuals say the seat bolts are one-time use.
Wonder how many people adhere to that...

Just remembered you need the weird sockets for the bolts. Forgot the name but it's like the female version of a torx.
Some people use a standard 6 pointed hex but it can chew up the bolt heads. Especially the one at the centre rear which is the hardest to get to.
I've had to replace some on my car which were chewed up before I got in there.
E12 Torx iirc

Maybe a mic like this run to the right location could help record the noise, if put in the right location ?

Also if the Porsche wheel crest isn't lined up with the tyre valve and locking wheel nut then that wheel is never, ever coming off.

I guess that’s for the 2.9 (non-S) rather than the 3.4s? Even then, looking on Autotrader there’s only one 2009+ car below £15k with a manual box. Only three below £17k.
Or have I misunderstood what a Gen 2 car is? I thought it was MY2009+?Kind of two factors there, not as many Gen2's were sold and a lot of them are PDK (don't knock it till you've tried it, although again I still like a manual too).

if you try to kick it any other way - never has the same effect. Has to be the heel.
Flat shoes and not stilettos ?

Stand with your back to the car and hit the top of the wheel with your heel - works every time for me.
Like that, simpler than what I suggested.
Occam's razor rules apply.
Auto headlights mod - anyone tried this?
