  1. Original paint is definitely what you want on panels but both bumpers as long as the paintwork is good there’s no way it would devalue the car. Quite the opposite in my opinion provided the colour is spot on along with the quality of paint. A freshly sprayed front and rear bumper as stated would only add value not decrease it. IMHO

Will Wd40 work for winter lay-up do u think??

I had my PSE retro fitted three years back. Ok it’s not used Dec-March and the rest of the time as a sunny day roof down car. Always change between Sport and normal frequently on drives which are never short. Then on washing once a month the valves get a wipe and a squirt with WD 40. No issues yet so I’m say yes 👍

I think his Mrs hates it

Been watching all his vids based on this GTS. Anyway he’s done a few European tours one of which he takes in the Porsche museum. During the visit he actually asks his wife about the fact she’s not really into cars. To which she replied quite honestly NO. She did like the museum though. So I think you’re right 😂

But aye, I'm not selling the car I just thought for that sort of money it'd be great for it to hit this forum!

TBH if I’d sold mine I would definitely be interested in this as I think it’s a nice car. I’m not bothered about Bose and the interior is fine. I’d probably get Red seat belts fitted and possibly the steering wheel upholstered which would include a red 12’o’ clock but that would lift the interior enough for me.
I'm tempted to ask if he’ll take a px 🤔👍

Just checked the WBAC price on my car. It's at 42% of what they were quoting just over two years ago. I've not seen one fit for the road for sale anywhere their price though.

I’ve been trying to sell my car as per other posts. But no luck. WBAC currently values my car at 20k (25k in July) which explains people offering 25k and literally telling me they are doing me a favour😳😳😂 But I concur with what’s been said previously. I can’t find any cars at 25k anywhere near my spec

  6. I like the car and he’s honest with his video explaining it’s time to sell. Identifying things like stone chips on paintwork and the windscreen. But here’s the question. Do you think the documented work he’s carried out using non Porsche parts all be it the exact equivalent in most cases devalues the car at all? But it is being sold at a great price.
I suppose it’s well documented on his YouTube videos and he’s probably got the supporting recipes. But it was carried out by himself on his drive. Interesting to see what people think 🤔

Had an offer a couple of weeks ago of £30k from Ashgood,  63 plate  28K,  S, with lots of toys.  But still like it too much to sell for £3K less than i paid,2 years ago Ha! Ha!

That was a good offer. Dealers still wanting serious money but some not prepared to offer good money as px.  Cardiff OPC has just advertised a base like mine with 23k miles and not much as extras for  34k 😳

Toyed with selling up. Are we allowed to post "what's it worth?" threads?

Recently had mine for sale. Lovely example. PSE, x73 both retro fitted in the last three yrs. Full service history. Apple CarPlay and lots of other tasteful stuff like GTS rear lights, Ducktail spoiler with all the original parts to go with the car. Low ish miles 32k. Only had one serious chat over the phone but the guy wasn’t keen on the x73 as he thought it might make it a bit hard ride wise and two offers of 25k 🤔😳 That’s on a MY13

So it’s a really tough market with sharks ready to pounce on people with a need to sell. I wasn’t bothered but it looks like it’s saying for the foreseeable.

If you have a car for sale and there's 5+ folk all checking WBAC using your reg it's bound to have an impact on their valuation, I remember selling a van and it did the same and people even started offering me based on WBAC prices despite it being the cheapest van on the market with half the miles of all the dealer + vat vans. They all got ignored 😂

This makes a lot of sense. I do it. Just lately the WBAC Price has dropped like a stone. Literally 25k about a mth ago to today’s valuation of 18.5k. 😳 I’d never sell at that. I’d just keep it as a garage ornament with occasional use.

    ..just gone >26k & yes it's sad I know!!

Just sold? What was it? Mine hasn’t sold and it’s probably not going to sell at the moment. I’ll enjoy it for the next couple of mths before winter then hibernate it until the spring. During the winter I’m planning on putting her back to standard. Then sell as a standard car.

There's a big gap this year between the trade in value/ wbac because of their perception of risk and what the market is willing to pay. I saw that recently on an early Q3, trade value was about £5k, seller expected maybe £6.5k private but when checking the cheapest dealer asking price was about £9k for a like for like car. The phone literally rang off the hook when advertised just below.

I would adjust your price to attract a buyer or hold on and be patient for a buyer to come along.

Remember that some sellers are trying to flog the gts for £60k, one OPC just dropped from £62k, things are very strange at the moment.

I’ve only had one serious enquiry and funnily enough it was from a Scottish gentleman. Funny because that’s where the car came from OPC Glasgow supplied the car and I bought it from the second owner who lived in Edinburgh. It now lives with me in S Wales and I thought it’d be nice for it to go home. So to speak 😂. But he was concerned about the x73 and its stiffness. Which is a fair one but what I thought was a selling point, for some it’s the opposite it would appear.

  12. Well to say I’m shocked is an under statement. But the latest valuation from WBAC has socked me. 2013 981 PDK with 32k miles and FSH has been getting reasonable prices recently until today. £18765 😳😳😳 Wow that’s down from 25k only a mth ago.

I know the market is incredibly slow, been trying to sell mine for the last six weeks, but is this now the trade in value?

Thanks, I'll see whether mine's the same. At the moment I'm using the 12V socket in the glove box.

My MY 13 glovebox 12v socket definitely does not power down provided you plug the Ctek in within the the stated time. The Ctek adapter I use from  the socket has a flashing green light to show its live.

Yep more than likely. Just one of those things I suppose. The joys of motoring 😂👍

out of interest - and not wishing to open the "needs it vs can be done vs doesn't do anything" debate - but was the car coded/told the n previous Porsche battery or the replacement supplied by the AA had been installed?

Just wondering if the short life span of the Porsche one (vs the original) could be linked to charging characteristics ?

So firstly the battery I had replaced was the original. Never had a problem but it was seven yrs old and I’m a bit paranoid about getting caught out whilst on one of my trips. How ironic 😂 So only back in March 21 the car was in for a major service with Lee at CPS so I had him change the battery. He used a Porsche battery on my request and I’m positive he would have coded the battery and followed the correct procedure for doing so. But even though when not in use it was sat in the garage on a Ctek this never stopped it failing without warning as it did.
AA man also told me it needed coding and plugged a device in the port and did a coding using the information gained from the top of the battery etc. I did have to re teach the windows by opening and closing but now everything seems to be working fine. Regards stop/start function it’s something I always turn off on start up. But when I sometimes forget it worked fine. Even to the point if I did forget to turn it off when I got to the exit of my estate some 100 meters from the house it would turn off at the traffic lights. So again never any indication the battery was weak.

How do you connect your ctek?

Via the inboard 12v socket in the glove box. I’m in and out of the garage daily and all the lights on the Ctek have always sown everything as it should. Like I said the voltage reading has always been good on the display. I could even open the front lid and boot. Just not enough juice to start the car. 🤷‍♂️

  17. Well thought I’d have a day driving today. Got the car out of the garage and off its Ctek. First stop petrol. Full tank of Shells finest and off we go!! Nope 👎 car won’t start. All dash lights as normal but it’s throwing all sorts of faults at me in the left binicle and refusing to start 👎 So AA turn up and after a quick inspection and test of the battery announces the battery is done. What that three year old Porsche battery I had put on because the original (that had given no trouble) was seven years old and I never wanted to get caught out! Yep it’s done. That’s ironic I thought 🤔
Any way after being precious three years back I let the AA man put a Bosch AGM  battery on. £251 so the day was salvaged.

But interesting that I always had a display of 12.7 and above on the Volts display and have never had a hint of it failing. Whilst waiting for the AA man I opened the boot and front lid with both the key and the switches. So no indication there the battery was done. Also like I say a full illuminated dash like normal when placing key in and turning to position one.

Maybe my Ctek is faulty 🤷‍♂️

I quite like the fact the R/S Spyder seems to have adopted a similar design which endorses the original Boxster Spyder ethos for me

I must admit these are my thoughts. It’s part of the concept of being designed for the ultimate in light weight. I’m putting my 981 up for sale at the end of the month. Then I might well buy a 987 Spyder as I’m sure it’ll work for me and what I want out of the car. That being that something a bit different and IMHO a bit special
