last time I was able to add the local shop and then attach the picture of the invoice.
This time no such luck.
did you check here?
MICHELIN car tyres -
do you mean the shop is not listed in the drop down?
where did you get yours from - its a long list and wasnt working for me first time I tried
-
New front tyres - Michelin Pilot sport 4 S's from Mr Tyre £468 with hopefully £40 cashback from Michelin
Car felt better on short drive home for certain - the old ones were very hard and had some deep cracking ...
still hunting the creaks 😞 but one is in the rood for deffo - so I will take the front metal strip and drop the roof lining to see whats going on... -
not affiliated but I find this site useful
https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2022-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm
I might try the Sport contacts when I need to replace all of them - but that might be a few years and by then a new winner?? -
@red rocket you should have messaged me so we didn't compete!!
That looks spot on Congrats - I saw a white cayman in Dovehouse and not a colourway I had even considered - but we both said that looks really clean/fresh and overall a great shade for the shape!
I had to have a 3.4, just a box to check. My blue one came up and bar the interior creaks p***ing me off - it has surpassed all my expectations. The PDK is sublime.
I have to say though I am concerned for my licence - gets to way more than the speed limit far too quickly!
Sport is ace for the downshifts ...Well done again !! you will love it...

Cleared gravel from the gearbox deflector tray thingy - and then saw the drivers drive shaft was a bit ropey looking so I rubbed it down and gave it a lick of paint
waxed and put the original plates back on ready for putting on AT/PH now it’s getting warmer
also found the selector that goes on the end shaft of the gearbox had some minor play, so removed the pointy bolt, cleaned and then installed again with loctite managed to take out the slack 🙂

Just been for a quick blast around in mine as it sunny here and no creaks or rattles in mine and I recently had the dashboard in bits😂
Are the noises more when the roof is up or down. I would have a look at the roll bar covers, check the wind deflector is seated properly and pop the bonnet check the plastic trim that covers the battery is all clipped in.
More when roof is up, and yes it’s down a lot but can’t always be so.
there’s a creak/pop in the roof I think above the roll bar, they also seem to be creaky. I’ll maybe do a video see if it picks it up. -

Passenger seatbelt buckle when not in use and not positioned high enough up the seat is a favourite one, hits the seats and makes an annoying noise.
Thanks - I have heard this one but both seats were occupied.
It’s more expansion crackles/creaks I guess.
looks like rain again so may have to have a look tomorrow -
Hi I did a quick search and didn’t find anything recent.
I’m absolutely loving the 981, the noise, the handling, the comfort.
But
I’m having some trim squeaks, rattles and pops. The main ones seem to be coming from the area around the rollover hoops?
the dash clock cluster area also seems like it wants to make a crack/creak sound every now and then.
so I thought we could have a thread where people have had a rattle or noise interior trim wise and the fix or suggestions?I was going to pull the covers off the roll over parts and pop grease on the fixing tabs and perhaps some fabric tape (wiring loom stuff) on any bits that look like they are rubbing.
thanks in advance

as I missed the edit as I was checking - I think you can get a bit of flexi pipe in the top and the bottom
I'll try and take some pics in case its handy. -
can you get to the front rear drain without taking the rubber bit off? and seat belt bits?
I have a compressor and pipe etc so I reckon I can get to the bottom under motor one - not yet looked -
Picked it up!!!!!
981 club joined.
IMHO a very nice Boxster S in Sapphire Blue, lots of extras …not sure who said these are not quick, I think they’re pretty fast. Plenty fast enough.
I’ll do a ride report soon 😎

Actually easier to insure for a year with no ncd…
-
Having accidentally bought a 981 and not yet sold the 987 and my insurance won’t do temp cover, figured I should probably get it covered
I’m after fire and theft as I won’t use the car
thanks

Absolute bargain, 007, one of the first batch with a massive spec. Normally this would be c£25k from a dealer.
On autotrader sold by Sterling's
Beat me too it
Looks good if you’re in the market for a genuine BE

Well….
its funny how things just happen
Deposit down on a ‘14 3.4S boxster
private sale, it’s a heap of cash which I’m still wrestling with… it’s maybe not unicorn spec but it has a lot
details soon
does means I am now more motivated to move my old 987 😉

Leather was not as nice as I had thought it would be,certainly the standard cabin is a nice place to be
Id likely put PSE or Carnewal if it didn’t have it but as I can spanner this is an easy up grade
as is cruise bar the coding but that’s fine
things like electric seats which I loved, and PASM are expensive to retro fit, PASM to the point you’d be better off buying a car with it!
hope to look at another tomorrow, one of the short list got snapped up
that’s the biggest quandry now is when do I stop looking, will more come out for sale when the weather improves ? of course the prices won’t be as nice but that’s ok for the right car
I think the right 981 could be a +5-6 year keeper to be honest from what I’ve driven
need to try a non opening roof one too just so I’m not always having coupe wanderlust
this is a great response. Keep the points coming .

Tried 2 981s’s today. Made my 2.7 feel like it was broken. Nicely quick. Not Tesla rapid of course.
so deffo 3.4 (unless there is a unicorn spec one appearing…)
PASM is on my must have list now.not fussed on extended leather or sports exhaust actually.
got a couple of others to try next week…

P Zeros are bad right?
Hopefully looking at couple of cars this weekend the one which has PASM and is a bit more ££ is on P Zeros - replacing with PS4S's is £1000 right?
so that the next q - current market not many with PASM so how important should it be to me?
I have a spreadsheet now as the options and having to recheck pictures was just getting old... -

come on @Dubdubz, you've started down the slippery slope, you are 60% of the way there to using man maths to justify a Spyder as that has even more HP!!
Dig deep - it'll be worth it in the end
I'm using very thinly spread man maths as it is already...
Actually I decided at the weekend these cars are a pain to try and buy as said already its options bingo....nice colour, nice wheels, someone onm acid then cbose the interior...then try and find one with PASM and PDK and ... and - it gets boring

IIRC there were about 5 options on seats from new.
How on earth do you decipher this and work out what a car has ? I thought there was normal or shoulder bolsters and then fully electric versions of those - which I guess is 4 already....
I do like to have a winter tyre set - so maybe if I find a car with 19's I live with and then save for some 20's -
are 19" wheels seen as ok in 981 circles or do I need to hold out for a car with 20's
I checked Ebay and 20's seems to be massively expensive 2nd hand...
as do sports seats...
What have you done to your 981 today?
