antjrice
Nice to see such a mint interior as I don't think I've seen such a fresh example on a 986, but seriously?

Haha, better start winding your odometer back to 4,500 miles in readiness then
C11RJC
Only £19,995.00 now. If it were a fully specified late 3.2, with 4K, they might stand a chance. Feel it's a long time before decent boxsters will be at this money
ooid
To be honest, it's a great value. What else can you buy there about 20k, almost brand new (4k miles!) with mid-engine, 2.5 NASP? If you are a collector great find, but if you are going to drive and enjoy this is almost perfect. 17 years old 986s now, most of the common issues have been highly documented and written, you would not even need OPC servicing, would be so cheap and fun to maintain this at least 20 more years. (not to mention uber-cheap insurance under-classic in a few years, after hitting 20!)

But it's not almost brand new, it's 20 years old and that will have taken it's toll on many components that will need to be replaced. 20 year old tyres anyone? 20 year old bushes, air con components perished, An engine that has rarely run, plenty of issues there as well. Also if you buy it and use it then it will pretty soon become just another old low mileage car worth £5-7K. If you want one to use, I'd say a regularly used and maintained car with low mileage would be a much better prospect at a much lower price. For £20K you could buy a 2010 987.2 S that would be a much better drive. Each to their own though, let us know how you get on with it
topradio
As the reason that its up for £20K is the ridiculously low mileage then actually driving it will cause it to depreciate even faster than a new Boxster. You would have to put it away and hope that it continues to appreciate - and where's the fun in that.

I'm just really not sure about the engine having plenty of issues, if it would be looked at properly by a specialist before driving daily. (Literally, I would like to learn an expert's opinion on this?) I still do not think the price is so much comparing to what is out there. There were a few less 50k 986, around 9-10k a few months ago, so why not? not to mention super leggy and rattly 911's out there starting from 20ks, Maybe they might turn out like 550 spyders one day..the real, low mile original ones are so-expensive even the owners use replicas to drive them around
