Any French johnnies about?

I've arranged to view a local 986 2.7 (2004).

A chunk of the service history is in French, and my shaky ability to order a black coffee and two beers hasn't helped much.

Is anyone able to translate, or at least advise whether any big jobs have been done such as IMS, clutch, etc.?

In afraid my French is no good but are those headlights correct for an '04?

If not, it may be worth checking why they were changed...

Yes quite right. The bumper is a "986 facelift" bumper (late 02 to 04/5 when the 987 was introduced) headlights are as found from 96 - 2002 pre facelift, so something is amiss. If its a prefacelift car with a facelift car with a facelift bumpet put on it will not have  a glovebox. Tbere are other indicayors but morr difficult to describe, the vents in front of the rear wheels for example. Any more pictures?

My guess is it's a 2004 model which has spent time in France. Owner swapped lights to LHD versions and those now on the car are either the LHD lights or have been re-swapped to RHD but not for the right model year.

Good thinking. I would agree, from the pictures I would say its certainly a facelift car'so 04 is most likely correct. The lights have been swapped for the reasons  Boxob suggests, which seems very plausible to me if the car was in France for any length of time.

Certainly had a few euros spent on it , my very shaky French has picked up a lot of standard service items , aircon repair /recharge , call out for a flat battery ? . Can't see any really big bills to indicate IMS / clutch work  , as my French is pretty much limited to Deux fromage pizza , please don't take my word for it ! ,   still a very good looking car though   .

Looks like it was exported to France officially in November 2011.  The Controle technique (French  MoT) is every two years , the first CT upon import has the mileage at 84502 km.

P47 gives the UK owner Mr F Nudds of Chobham, Woking as having an air con problen, presumably he then got the EU type approval paperwork from Porsche FR to import the car.

Just had a look at all the photos. A lot of money spent on this car.

Tyres, discs, pads, concensers, aircon regaz, brake fluid...

2 repairs on the windscreen

But one thing is troubling me... he changed the battery a few times... I will look more colsely at the dates and if they found any specific problem...

Page 38: Looking for why the battery is draining. Did some repair on the instrument cluster. Can't read the date.

Page 40: Car arrived with road assistance. Alarm on and wing up. They charged the battery and replace the RH door switch.

Page 42: New battery

Page 50: New battery...

Looks like there is a probleme somewhere... or was maybe it has been fixed!

Unless he was not using the car regularely and the battery drained... but I doubt it!

Bit of a c*ck-up - my fault. I got the trader confused with another and made the appointment with the wrong one. D'oh!

Going to see it tonight, but they'll be closed. If I'm still interested after tonight's viewing I'll arrange a test drive and proper look at the weekend.

I asked him about the headlights and he suspects it's as we surmised above. As for the electrical issues, he has no idea. Because of these (potential) issues he'll have to drop a decent chunk for me to be interested.

A few others lined up anyway, but much further to travel - this one's 15 minutes away but the next favourite is two hours. Bother.
