After 6 years absence from the Boxster fold I am currently looking for a 987S Boxster to use as a weekend car. Have had Macan diesels since 2014 and will keep my 2018 Macan  as my daily. Looking for a clean 987S -  ideally 2008 to 2010 but will consider 2006/07. If anyone knows of anything around the Yorkshire area please let me know. I have seen all cars available on Autotrader and Pistonheads.

indies that are usually recommended for stock - RPM specialist cars which are near you, further south there is ashgoods, maundrells, 911virgin, Northway

good luck with the search

Will keep looking every day. Amazing how many cars for sale are poorly presented. MOT histories on a lot are interesting which is indicative of how many owners don’t even bother making their cars fit for an MOT beforehand.

What annoys me is some of the things that fail on a mot. On another car it failed because the front beam was out and then adjusted and but through again and passed. It was in for a main service and mot. When I phoned to complain their answer was they always fail on that nothing to worry about. Annoyed me as it 8s the first fail I have had in 25 years off motor ownership

I was told ( not sure how true it is ) that MOT garages like to fail a car as it looks good for their stats and therefore headlight adjustment is an easy one. My sons TT went in for an MOT in January and the test centre did not even mention any failure - just handed him a pass certificate with no advisories. It was only when I went online that night that I saw that they had prior to the Pass failed the car for a headlight beam. I am certain there was nothing wrong with it and he certainly was not charged for any adjustment or re test fee.

Same here it was in our caravelle. It has factory leds, i did not find out it had failed until I looked online.  They Even told me it had passed. It’s fairly new and was first mot.

I have always been given a fail test sheet along with the Pass sheet if a car or motorbike has failed their test, for whatever reason and then passed in the same day. For instance, on me bikes, some testers will pass an illegal number plate and some others insist on the regulation size of digits, a red reflector and a garage name on the bottom now. Having said that I got one of my bikes tested in March and I asked if I needed to put me baffles in and they said "nah, be awright" and didn't even mention the number plate.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dove House Motors. They have their own workshop. I bought a 2009 987s in January from them. No quibbles with issues that came up in the first 3 months, fixed immediately. Fantastic service from Nick West and the garage team. They love their Porsches.
