Dicky-Art
It is a messy job, scrape it off with a flat blade scraper then use 400 wet n Dry, etch primer then top coat...….or...……..wipe with panel wipe then wrap it in vinyl!
SuperPaulie
im doing it right now on my 986. That stuff is truly horrible, i gave up on finesse and ended up using a orbital sander with 80 grit and then by hand with aluminium oxide paper 80 grit. When you think you have done it, look again the next day... then i guess work your way up the grits if you are going to paint it. Its a horrible mess but the best way is to just physically sand it off. Centre console

Terryg
I also used cellulose thinner and a scraper before sanding off the remaining residue, I'm weird, I like doing that stuff.

red rocket
Just posted elsewhere : Google searches and Youtube videos suggest thinners or acetone should remove the coating, then sand and usual prep for paint.
