edc
Have you rebuilt the handbrake and shoes? They delaminate or disintegrate over time and the springs can break too.
Andy Mac
@andrewwalling -that’s frustrating. When you say serviced the brakes is that replacing the handbrake shoes and the discs and pads? If not what did they and the inside of the disc look like? When adjusting the wheel - could you get them to lock before backing it off?
andrewwalling
Earlier this year I did a full suspension rebuild all corners came off and when it all went back together I fitted New disks Pads and shoes It is a tiptronic so to be honest I don't use the handbrake normally I put it into park I have adjusted the handbrake and it appears to be working on jacks and I cant push the wheel round but on the road the handbrake is not holding Unless anyone has a bright Idea I am going to strip them down again to double check
Bradders59
If you dont use the handbrake the mechanism seizes up. Have you had the discs off, dismantled the mechanism and cleaned, lubricated and reassembled it ?

½cwt
Do the shoes just need bedding into the face of the drum? Drive it and drag the hand brake a few times.
