The T-Design magnetic unit comes with 3 or 4 sticky backed metal plates that tou can stick to the outside of the case that allows teh phone to stick strongly. The onboard MagSafe charger is not strong enough to hold on through the case

Check also where the charging ring is mounted inside the phone. AIUI if the charger and phone don't line up correctly you will get very inefficient charging.

The metal plate is deliberately stuck below the MagSafe charger area of the phone , so the MagSafe still works through the case (its a MagSafe case)
