  1. I only got one key when I bought the Alfa,  so I took out cover with keycare.co.uk think it cost me about £30 for a year.

When I lost my key 🙄 they were so easy to claim with, I rung them, told them the details and got a ref number. I had to wait a few days to see if the key got sent back (there is a postal tag you attach to your key when you join) I got a new key from Alfa (was about £500) and scanned the invoice, sent it to Keycare and they transferred the money next day.

Handy if you "lose" your key.

Really surprised that is still for sale - its the cheapest 3.4S with PDK around at the moment - even 2.9 PDKs with over 100k are being advertised for more.

Perhaps its not quite as good as it looks in the photos once you get there or it needs some meaty jobs doing like the cross over pipes etc

This was @mavis.d's old car. The seller bought it from BCA and is a bit of a knob and doesn't really know anything about the car. I was considering buying it and it does need a few bits doing but nothing massively major. Looking for the sellers address on Streetview did not help either... he does not live where the pics were taken that's for sure.

I got him down to £13,500 for it but something still didn't sit right so I did not make the long trip to Doncaster.

I have heard that buying a car from these sites can be a different story however:
    https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/used-car-dealer-cinch-comes-under-fire-on-bbcs-rip-off-britain/272723

I watched that, as usual its 6 of one.... part of it was a guy buys a used Golf, and 6 months and 5,000 miles later it develops  a gearbox fault and is very angry that Cinch would not pay the £2,500 to fix it.... buying online or in person, without an extended warranty, no dealer would.

Well, I suppose the dealer could put the new buyer in touch with you if both parties agree, but not sure on the regulations and ethics involved.

Unlikely, any dealer would want to sell their own warranty

For £15k you'll soon be able to get your hands on a 2.9 series 2 987 when the " season " ends.  Couple on eBay at the moment and probably the best of both worlds...  Ask me how I know,  oh and don't be afraid of higher mileage either.. My 2.9 has just clicked over 155000 miles and she's just about run in.

These cars were designed to be driven and they love it.

Just my 2p worth, good luck in your search and welcome.

    You already can

But this one has had 5 owners so the chances of it never being in the rain?

    no doors? Mini moke?

To be fair he does not say its never been driven in the rain, just "I've avoided driving in the wet "

  7. There should be a rivet the bottom of the window runner to act as a bump stop. Often when people change a window regulator they do not put the rivet in (same regulator for the 997 but it does hot need the rivet) £5 says its not there.

Someone on here recommended the protex kit. Id highly recommend it too after using it. Just make sure you get the right colour

I just used the Protex kit on the Alfa. I have previously used the Autoglym kit but found it never really got rid of the green, the sponge was not really that great.

The Protex kit came with a proper Iron shaped scrubbing brush which worked well. I also liked that the cleaner and the waterproofer were both brush on products rather than spray (like the Autoglym one) as the spray is not great with any wind or avoiding over spray etc. It came with the 2 paint brushes required as well, was about £24 all in and the roof has come up brilliantly without a hint of green left anywhere.

    Highly recommend Protex

  9. its easy really... I fitted PPF to my motorbike. The key is picking a nice warm day, bit of prep, spray bottle with a small bit of lubricant in the water, a good applicator... get a proper one for a couple of quid it will do a better job.

Dont press too hard to get the water out from under the film and any small bubbles that are left usually disappear overnight.
