  1. This was mentioned to me back in October when I was at Cambridge OPC (buying some parts for my old 996 first of many visits 😂). They took my details and I’d forgotten all about it.

This pack arrived this week - fancy box / booklet of benefits - like several free washes (with an old broom no doubt) etc - and a card ohhhhh! As @Rav mentioned earlier in this post.

  2. @tallstevef I’ve had something similar before that turned out to be the fan causing interference. (On a certain fan speed it caused a faint beeping like noise - weird).

May not be that in your case - but if you decrease / or increase the fan speed a few notches it’s an easy way of seeing if the noise disappears.

  3. Sound works now @fewtrees.

I know we’ve seen / heard cars in the past on here where a loose plug makes a very similar sound to that.  (Several videos on YT).
(Much more prominent one side of the car to the other).

I only mention it as a possibility / and something that is easy to check.

Lifter sounds likely if it’s not constant and happened after a period of rest, fingers crossed for nothing sinister - sounded lovely when revved.

  4. @Pordave I did my 996 ones a few weeks back (were really yellow). The 3M kit worked really well for me.

I took a deep breath and went all out on them (removed / removed seals / cleaned - then used the kit on the lenses). Lights went from horrible yellowed mank to clear and looking like new!

Depends on your diy skills though - not for the faint hearted half way through and you could damage the lenses with careless application. Saying that if you follow the instructions I found it went really well.

£ 143!!! Crikey. I also went down the EBay coloured sides when I had a 981S - easy to replace / change when you fancy a change.

I am tempted to view a very nice high specced S in GT silver.

It does have a full red leather package including the steering wheel. Whilst the red may lighten up the interior, I am not sure how it looks in real life rather than photos and if I could live with it.

I did have Coral red seats in my BMW and my F-Type also has red seats but not the full Monte and do quite like this over full black.

Would full red interior be a very hard sell on?

Does anyone on here have it in their car and can give an opinion is it really marmite?

    Thanks

@Stuart21UK does, I’ve always liked the look in his one 🏁

    Tesco Super / 99 / momentum

    I can tell the difference

It used to be called Tesco 99 as it has or had 99 octane. I read a review by one of the car mags a few years ago where they tested a Porsche GT3 with a range of different super type fuels and Tesco made the most power. I had to travel a bit to find it back then. I want to say this was when I had my first Boxster in 2004 but not sure. I've been using it exclusively in all my cars since so for quite a few years. I even live near a Tesco now for this reason.

When I had the APR mapped (stage 1) MK7 Golf R the chaps at APR said in their tests Tesco 99 performed the best.

  8. I reckon £13k sale price + fees tops.

The 17 year service gap will prevent anything higher… we’ll see!

Although the world has gone mad and cars seem to be advertised and changing hands for daft money.

Funny site too - I had a positive experience buying a number plate.

But as for buying a car - posh words - nice photos - still get your pants pulled right down if you don’t inspect it…

I really think I would have cried, I know it’s only carpet and can replaced but just devastating to open the boot and find that staring up at you when you could have prevented it.

I imagine @Patt was very emulsional seeing that....

That was a bad pun sorry ... we can just gloss over it

Cambridge (Harston) do their own (they share a MOT ramp with the Aston dealership next door) . Had a couple done there.

They used to - which appealed to me - then farmed them out to another place (nobby & dicks car emporium or Simao or)  Sounds like they are back doing on site if that’s recent experience @iborguk

  11. @Desiro worth doing at an OPC if they do their own MOTs (loan car & may highlight any issues spotted - re warranty).

But a lot of OPCs farm them out to local places, ie not done on site.

    Locked and loaded!

    Macan GTS
    Night Blue Metallic
    20” Turbo Alloys
Black Leather package (not alcantara, and Mojave didn’t do it for us after looking at a Cayenne at OPC Glasgow)
    Pano Roof
    Sport Chrono
    75lt tank
    drivers memory pack
    heatable windscreen
heated steering wheel (front seat heating is std)
    Privacy Glass
    park assist with reversing camera

    Whoop!

Sounds like a well thought out spec.

Great that other members can give a “... in hindsight” view of options they wish they’d had / couldn’t live without.
