247 hours plus materials bit of a waste of time and money on a 986 !

I was speaking to the classic Porsche guys on the stand that where involved in the resto, that build time does not include engine or gearbox work, that’s next 🤔

I turned my lights on expecting to see a green headlight symbol. I didn't but is there actually one? The lights are working and the lights on key out warning works still.

I don’t think there is just a blue main beam when you have that on.

if your instrument binnacle is lit up then you know your lights are on is how I tell.

  3. Rav, my first thought is the MAF sensor, easy way of checking is when the car is running rough pull the MAF and drive to see if it makes a difference.

It could also be an air leak, so will have to get that tested, it could also be the coil packs.

    I presume no EML on?

Cant help on the air con as my car doesn’t have it lol.

if you want to pop over to mine I could help try and diagnose it.

  4. As @K.I.T.T. Has stated check the boot,  it lift up he carpet and look for signs, there will be some if the expansion tank is the issue, also condensation on the boot lid is another sign.

if it is the expansion tank it’s a job you can do at home but it is a PITA

That needs ambering up and a sequential number plate with the Boxster - good job! Keep us posted on how you get on with it

Lots of plans, amber is one, maybe, Fuch wheels are an option and the Porsche dog check black and white material for the seat inserts and a few other ideas, of course will keep he pics coming

  6. Been hankering after another 911 for a while and have been looking at 996 for a while as they are good value at present and seem to be on the rise, this was was a bit of a bargain that I couldn’t pass up, it’s been looked after by Cotsworld Porsche for the last two owners so I know mechanically it’s sound.

    Its a 1999 Carrara C4

The wheels need a refurbishment and there are a few marks on the paintwork, the interior is spotless, it comes with a large file of history and the service book is fully stamped from main dealer and specialists.

    Here’s a few pics
