Just bought some black wheel nuts so hopefully won’t look bad after a few months like the silver ones

It won’t work I don’t think, the plastic window is much larger than the glass window replacement, I doubt it will retract

247 hours plus materials bit of a waste of time and money on a 986 !
I was speaking to the classic Porsche guys on the stand that where involved in the resto, that build time does not include engine or gearbox work, that’s next 🤔

On the Porsche stand at the NEC, it did look really nice, it’s based on the same age 986 as I’ve got, good to see they are valued and worth restoring

Asked OPC, £79 each 🙄
I think they are quoting for the wrong part, I bought one a while back and it was a tenner with discount

I turned my lights on expecting to see a green headlight symbol. I didn't but is there actually one? The lights are working and the lights on key out warning works still.
I don’t think there is just a blue main beam when you have that on.
if your instrument binnacle is lit up then you know your lights are on is how I tell.

Wet carpet
in 986
Punctured drip tray, or door membrane not sealed would be my first thoughts

I think there are gold accents in the way of the Callipers and grills but not entirely sure. It’s going to be at the Classic motor show NEC tomorrow
If it is I will hunt it out,, will be there on Friday

It looks right, there are two different types, so buy both, as getting to the bulbs is a bit of a faff, so have both to hand in case you get the wrong one, they are only pence.

Keep the roof up, nice and toasty then 😂

Rav, my first thought is the MAF sensor, easy way of checking is when the car is running rough pull the MAF and drive to see if it makes a difference.
It could also be an air leak, so will have to get that tested, it could also be the coil packs.
I presume no EML on?
Cant help on the air con as my car doesn’t have it lol.
if you want to pop over to mine I could help try and diagnose it.

isn't that one where you need very small hands? (Serious question, not expecting serious responses/retorts...)

As @K.I.T.T. Has stated check the boot, it lift up he carpet and look for signs, there will be some if the expansion tank is the issue, also condensation on the boot lid is another sign.
if it is the expansion tank it’s a job you can do at home but it is a PITA

Been hankering after another 911 for a while and have been looking at 996 for a while as they are good value at present and seem to be on the rise, this was was a bit of a bargain that I couldn’t pass up, it’s been looked after by Cotsworld Porsche for the last two owners so I know mechanically it’s sound. Its a 1999 Carrara C4
The wheels need a refurbishment and there are a few marks on the paintwork, the interior is spotless, it comes with a large file of history and the service book is fully stamped from main dealer and specialists.
Here’s a few pics

You should be able to get to the engine, you just need to wiggle the screen up onto the roll bar loops and prop it up with a stick, it’s not as good as the original access but is workable, I have taken the Throttle bodies off so access is certainly there
