Went for a 10 minute blast after finishing the drivers heated seat, toasty toasty.
On to the wiring next, going to try and work out how to get them to OEM switches. Although I have just realised I have one matte OEM switch and one gloss. Doh 😖

Made a start on fitting the heated seat pads. Not actually anywhere near as difficult as I imagined it would be.
Hardest part was getting your hand and a tool in to snip the existing hog rings especially on the seat base but, once it was all apart it was easy enough to put back together.
Almost lost an eye to the seat runner spring pinging off but other than that I would call it a success- 1

Good luck with the suspension!
if I look at the picture I have the 3 dots but they are just edit, delete nothing else. That’s from the App. Maybe I’ll try another site.If you’re using the app on IOS you can long press on the image and it gives you options to ‘copy post link’ and that’s the one you want

ok I got as far as copying the link as above, is that correct?
Look for the one that ends in a file format such as .jpg or similar, copy and paste that and then it should show up in your post

Finished making a car port to put the Boxster under, although it’s a daily it’s nice to put it under cover especially when it’s really heavy rain.
Photos?

Almost as if some zeros are missing!
No zeros missing
£25 for the back box - eBay
£90 for the bypass, and that’s because they quoted £80-£100 so I met them in the middle. John Ashley Exhaust, Walsall West Midlands

Where did that come from?
£25 for the exhaust and then £90 for the exhaust shop to do their stuff!

Do you notice he's in Seattle USA?
Apparently its getting up to 13℃ there today, so as long as he has the heated seats and a beanie on?

Asked for the assistance of a sensible adult to remove the old exhaust
To make room for one with some shiny new bypass pipes on it 😁

Accepted the arrival of Fall and installed the hardtop.
Also replaced the left side window regulator and swapped the original grey dashboard gauge cover with a black one. My Boxster has a grey interior and in certain lighting conditions the reflection from the grey dash onto the windshield created some visibility issues. The black gauge cover has greatly reduced the reflection on the windshield above it. I wish there was a simple fix for the passenger side, I'm not up to changing the entire dash!
Noooo its too early for the hard top! 😖

Nice, is that the original IMS? What have you done if anything to the engine?
Yes all original and nothing done to the engine, just oil changes. 🤞

That’s a very good video.
I know there was talk on here before but did anyone ever manage to use OEM switches with aftermarket heated sets? -
Not today but a week or so ago. Fitted the custom vents I purchased from @Saxosim
Still undecided, they give it a more aggressive look and only had positive comments so far! At least its only one screw to put the others back! 😁- 1

I picked up a 2002 S a couple of weeks back. 97k miles, seal grey and tidy.
Turns out the seller was a bit of a tw*t. Seemed to be pretty tidy and it is, however, as soon as I got it out properly on the way home realised it needed front suspension sorting as rattle. Presumed broken spring.
Also, didn't mention the drivers window doesn't drop till after I paid him.
Oh, or when I asked if both keys were there and he said "Just the one." didn't think to mention the remote button was knackered.
Oh, and the "I will sort the PCM code out for you." was BS. The guy has gone silent on me. Tit!
I said just be honest with me.Then the next on the way home from my father in laws the following night, who has a garage, had a knocking from the rear. Bugger! Proper stitched up I thought.
However....Turns out the knocking was not failed IMS as I first thought but rear wheel bolts not been done up properly!
Another nice touch from the seller! The suspected broken spring is actually completely shot top mounts and joy of joys, seized top strut bolt and someone has rounded off the allen bolt. Seller knew this alright!
The drop links are also shot. Bugger!
Anyway, ordered new drop mounts, Bilstein dampers, bearing, top mounts and a pair of OEM blue/yellow springs. The arms etc. all seem super tight, and rear had work done not long ago.
I was planning to swap it all over on Tuesday. However, my father in law passed away on Monday. I still went over on Tuesday, just as much to be around for his wife than anything. But realised doing all the suspension work on my own with the seized links and struts just didn't appeal, I enjoyed doing it with him. So I spent the day cleaning drains and fitting a Pioneer 250DAB Carplay double din unit.
It was a pretty easy install as I have the 2002 Bose (non most) system, so just used the standard harness, all works great with the rear speakers/sub, I was pleasantly surprised how good it sounded.I have it booked in next week for local Porsche specialist to have the new suspension fitted.
Looking forward to getting it all sorted and driving it!Can I ask what surround that is for your double din unit and where from?

The Anni had the seat backs painted silver too.
Correct. But I believe they were hardbacks, which mine aren’t.

Why bother when they are less than a fiver new from Porsche ?
Maybe for an original one, but this is a double din unit that’s 102x178mm. Unless you have your words muddled and are referring to the heater control surround? If so I have that handy 🤓
What have YOU done to your 986 today ?
