You are right, but as I have fluid in the tank, so without knowing the total volume I cannot make a suitable dilution. I spent my working life in the chemical industry and have become somewhat obsessive about the accuracy of any dilution....😇
But how do you know the dilution of the fluid in the tank already 🤔. If its just pure water you could end up with protection down to only 17.5c, come the next ice age you will be screwed 😋

I would send it back, even if they offered a hefty discount on the part it would go back.

I have a 987.1 with PASM. which I take on track as well as using it for a fun road car.
The road setting seems good/great to me. It is a sports car and I don't expect a limo type ride in standard mode, just firmess and composure which it does in spades compared to a couple of Z4's that I have driven and certainly several TVR's that I have owned.
As for the sport setting, is this really meant for the road? I use mine on track and the settings feel perfect, (for a standard road car). Yes, tracks are very smooth and designed for you to drive far, far faster than on the road so that added stiffness is required and appreciated.
If you say yours is fine on the road in sport mode then chances are that it would be useless on the track, (to soft).
I'm not saying that the controller doesn't work, it may well do if you put a lot of time in to programme it. Possibly, you may not improve matters at all.
Good luck with that. I shall leave mine as standard as the PASM works well, (even though later cars could be better!).
The 987 PASM system is rather rudimentary, with the 2 settings for road or track which just changing the dampening force of all 4 dampers regardless of what the car is doing In firm setting its really not good on most roads in the UK. With the DSC fitted (and the accelerometer on a 987) it takes into consideration the speed, cornering forces and braking forces to alter each individual damper. So yes driving in a straight line at 30mph you get the 'limo' nice smooth ride but then throw the car into a right hand bend the DSC adjust the dampers to keep everything level.
You don't have to spend anytime programming the newer V3 DSC controllers for 981 cars or add the accelerometer, its plug and play.

A simple upgrade to the speaker system on the 981 is to replace the useless tweeters in the dash. I followed an old post on RENNLIST detailing changing them on a 991 and picked up a pair of Dayton Audio ND20FB-4 (£46 a pair on Amazon). The 981 grills is slightly different to the 991's and the spring clip that holds them in is a bit of a pig to get off on the first attempt.
Above shows the original tweeter on the right and the new Dayton ND-20FB next to it. It fits like a glove in the speaker grill
I took the back of the old speaker with the OEM cable socket and capacitor. It just peels off after de-soldering the connections, then re-solder it to the new tweeter
The Dayton speakers fit exactly into the original speaker housing, and after doing one it took me 10mins to do the other side.
The difference in the sound now is very noticeable and has me thinking what to do with the door speakers. I think they consist of a 200mm sub and 100mm mid range in each door.

The Porsche connect 'Good to know' booklet mentions data roaming has to be allowed on the sim and PCM but not how to do it sorry

This is in the US but Global
This is probably the best Carplay/ Android Auto unit on the market now for the PCM 3.1.
Its a similar set up to the NM Automotive and JoyAuto but the output is now digital through the Most system so better sound quality if you have Bose or Burmester

Is it £90 a year now for PCGB, wow! I used to be a member years ago and had some great times with the club but I recently joined TIPEC (£60 for 2 years) and found most of the PCGB clan are now TIPEC members. Chat and events are via Facebook groups for your region and people are quite active on there organising meets and drive outs.

I assume I still need locking wheel nuts
I wouldn't bother with the locking wheels bolts, PITA. As mentioned above contact RSR with any queries he emails back very quickly. Make sure you get the 19mm headed bolts as he does do some that are 17mm.

I think they look nicer than the originals 👍

My right hand fan (drivers side) is making a noise, its either a leaf or the fans on its way out.
Is there an easy way to get at the fan to check it?
Its just had a service and the dealer has said bring it back but if I can sort it myself it would save a big round trip.

One other problem that is cropping up is said dealers are discarding invoices with personal data on so they comply with GDPR so destroying any provenance. So p[perhaps stamps in a book will become more important as evidence of work.
My 981 came with all past receipts but with all the names and addresses cut off or as you state the dealer shreds the paperwork

I have owned Porsches for around 30 years and I can tell you now that you are always best using a Porsche specialist for servicing and repairs. Its a false economy and the damage I have seen or heard about by have a go back street garages is appalling.
If I was buying a 20 year old Boxster I would look for specialist stamps in the book and a pile of receipts otherwise I would think I was buying money pit.

@Raffeis the Macan steering wheel any different?
-
Have them in the Macan and the Boxster, much better in winter but can be slippery when getting in at first. Anybody else notice they have a slight odor?
-
Looks like Suncoast in the US are selling them for around £460
The only part no I have found is 982-713-120-A-PO2 but this is for the grey stitching not red. I might enquire next week at my OPC if my cars service goes ok.
And if you think Porsche can charge then look at the price of a DB Carbon selector

Seems like a total waste of money that one, just get a bit of alcantara on your shifter.
Kettle calling the pot 😆

I have two in my garage waiting to go on. I've been busy making the stitching match my dash, hoping it looks ok as it doesn't tie up like on the 718.
What are you using Daz, leather or alcantara.

I must say I like the PDK selector on the new RS cars, probably designed to look like a manual but much better than the big metal thing on a 981.
Kits for sale on Ebay at a pricey £700 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325248019743

Wow, that will be nice when fitted, did you get the side trims to the console as well? On the 718 this part has the stitching I would like to add on my 981.

I can't, the wifey thinks it looks pimpy! Stopped me looking at 25s due to the gold bits.
But I really do like the Shark Blue😍, think I am sold on it.
Agree with the gold bits on the 25 edition but I am a fan of the Aurum wheels, but the GT4's in black would also look good if you can get them.

With the 'Style edition' cars you are able to spec Spyder wheels 😍 I wonder if you can ask for this option on a GTS order?
