  1. I picked up 2 rear Pagid discs on offer at Halfords last month for £30 a piece! So far they have done 2 track days without any problem apart from going blue.

Front discs & pads and rear pads are again Pagid from Euro car parts. One of the ECP rear wear sensor melted but I've had that with the Porsche ones

  2. My 987 screen was replaced by Autoglass. The first time they turned up the replacement was damaged but the second one was fitted without a problem.

Just had a crack appear in the screen on the 981GTS so about to do the whole process again. I'm actually looking forward to a nice clean screen as its always had a slight chip right in my line of sight since I bought the car

Unless you have cruise control may be? The car will always think the clutch is depresses so will cancel CC. I might be wrong....

Hmmm, the cruise worked ok but I suppose you could have the problem of the engine revs increasing if you depressed the clutch without braking or switching of cruise. I ran like that for years and never had any issues.

@Tony Danieldid the first one, tested....hmmm not much sound coming from here probably not going to make much difference.

How wrong was I, my music sounds so much better ! I think upgrading the centre speaker will be even better, any suggestions?

Usually people disconnect the centre channel speaker, but so far I have not touched it or even looked at it, I think it's a 4" speaker like the door mids but not sure what depth. Adding sound proofing to the doors would be a good step.

  5. On certain roads the Macan's drivers door would rattle and vibrate. We mentioned it to dealer when it went in for warranty work on the PCM unit but was given the usual brush off that rattles are not covered under warranty.

I have just had the Boxster in pieces replacing the door speakers and adding sound proofing so I thought I would have a go at the Macan. Once the door panel is off its easy to see the problem, there is a large hard plastic panel in the door (seen on the left hand side of the pic I found on the internet) that resonates when you tap it. I took this out and greased the edges but it still rattled so using some dynomat sound proofing I had left over from the Boxster I covered the panel.

    So far no rattle.

Yes but is it any good?

The Porsche Ask speakers used for the sound package plus system are pretty poor, but maybe used for there lightness.

Replacing the dash speakers really made a big difference, the mids not so much, the subs give a much much deeper bass.

Sound proofing to the door is a must, the whole thing reverberated before and this caused the door handle to rattle, so I used around 45cmx60cm of Dynamat extreme on each door skin. I would have liked to have got more up around the door handle but didn't fancy taking all the air curtain off to get the inner panel off fully.

  7. After the success of the dash speakers I have decided to go ahead and replace the 2 in each door as well so this lot turned up today.

Audison 4" Mid range and Audison 8" Sub woofers. Both of these are 4 Ohms which are a direct replacement to the ones in my car with the Sound package plus fitted. I believe its a little more difficult with Bose as usual because the subs are only 1 ohm.

Fitment required speaker adapters and connecters for the Porsche wiring loom, both of these were sourced from a company based in Yorkshire called SCR

If the pad sensors haven’t been tripped then they can be re-used but they’re pretty cheap so yes it’s best practice to change them too. As long as the car is as Porsche intended it doesn’t matter who’s fitted the parts to keep the warranty integrity. Unfortunately i’ll have to buy the parts from the OPC not ECP as they’ll probably notice the non OEM parts during the service in October and reject the warranty renewal.

I didn't manage to save any of the wear sensors on my last pad change they all were very well bonded in. I replaced pads, discs and sensors all bought from ECP and then had a full service at an OPC followed by warranty renewal. The money I saved paid for 2 years Porsche assist👍.
