I would also advise purchasing some of Peters water guards for the woofers

@moonshineAnother good question to ask Peter! But yes you need a capacitor, Porsche us a 4.7uF and the guy in the original Rennlist thread tried varies but ended up with a 10uF cap. How much difference that makes I do not know and at my age I doubt I could hear the difference 👴

Bought mine from HERE
It is shortened but came with the BSAU mark which is the legal requirement.

@moonshine https://www.scrdistribution.co.uk/porsche-tweeter--mid-connectors-15677-p.asp
It could be this wire but ring Peter and ask if its the correct connector, he's very helpful but also very persuasive so you will probably end up ordering the full kit😆

There is no way the capacitor connector that is stuck to the back of the bose tweeter is coming off.
Any suggestions for sourcing a connector so I don't have to risk breaking the original tweeter and connector?
I used SCR for the door speaker connections, see if they do the tweeter

Fitted the interior light kit yesterday and the install went smoothly thanks to the instructions above.
They didn't come on when opening the door at first but found that was a due to the box not been ticked in settings- interior light.
Cheers @Robin_GTS

Honestly you will not notice it gone, and yes my town has been cut off from the rest of the country for 3 long years whilst they have building a bypass that doesn't even bypass anything 😤
-
I just disconnected it in my 981 after changing all the others.
-
Finally ordered the footwell light kit after 2 years of deliberating 😆.
@Robin_GTSdoes the kit come with bulbs?

This thread should be renamed to 'What has Mick done to his 991 today' 😂
He must have done a lot as it started out a 981😂

Heads and valves are the same on a Boxster S and 991.1 base (3.4) car @Patt , but throttle body is bigger.

Congratulations on your new car and welcome to the forum.
I upgraded the speakers in my 981 a while back using Audison speakers and SCR connectors and adapters. The thread is here:- SPEAKERS

I used to do this with the Cossie every year, and get a refund on the annual policy whilst it was laid up with the cover reduced to F&T only, which was a blessing when we had a house fire a few years ago.
I haven't found a company since that offers this unfortunately.
Did you lose the Cossie in the fire? I think I still have a video of it fishtailing around in front of me at Rockingham

My handbrake was playing up last year, took it in expecting a faulty solenoid. 'That'll be £260 sir to reset the air gap due to pad wear.
I used a cheap iCarsoft tool to check my gap. You have to adjust it though with the same method as a 986 with the little cog in between the hand brake shoes

Interested in the rattling passenger side seat belt. If it was refused, did you sort it somehow? Mine does this and it's pretty annoying
The service manager said they had come across the problem before but had no luck with Porsche GB allowing replacing any parts under warranty. I bought a new seat belt buckle which has cured it for now, if ordering make sure you get the correct hand as the drivers side has a electrical connector.
@iborguk yes, seat belt clip will rattle against the side panel when there's no passenger in the seat if the black plastic slider is not pushed up. My problem was with a passenger and buckle fastened the red release button rattled.

What broke on your PSE Tony? I have a particular interest in this at the moment.
The flap in the exhaust seized.

PSE replaced on one side under warranty.
Rattling passenger side seat belt and creaking door stays refused.
Also oil leak on PDK gearbox 'being monitored', I need to go back into battle on that

I paid £955 in August 23 for the 8 year service on my 2015 BGTS at Leeds OPC. I was told the age of the car reduced the price from £1,300.
I paid a similar price at Porsche Preston it included plugs and brake fluid

So who is doing these ?
20 265 35 and 20 235 35 ?
Have Blackcircles not got any? I had the Goodyears on a 986, worked well but could squeal a bit in the dry. There probably on version 5 or something now so could have improved. I still like the Michelins but pricy these days
-
I did mine on axle stands in my drive so anybody in theory could do it. I used all Porsche parts again and the cheapest supplier was my local Porsche centre.

Cath Burrows used to be my trusted specialist before she shut up shop.
I wonder what happened to her? I know she knocked gold medal winning Bradley Wiggins off his bike a few years back (my car was in for an aircon pipe repair at the time), did she lose the business over it

I run Motul RBF600 and will be trying the RBF660 this year.
I was invited to a OPC trackday at Anglesey last year and was slowing repeatedly from 120mph. Brake pedal pressure was fine but standard pads were toast after the day.
