Fitted an Air/Oil Separator (AOS) with the guidance of @bally4563 , who has the skill of making a challenging task look and feel simple.

Enjoyable couple of hours talking Porsche, Engineering and Viz...  and I now have a motor which is smoke free...!

Cheers for that, Mick

Back from a 3 day, 600 mile, tour around Wales. Collected a few bugs and flies...,

found some cracking roads - I'll post them up separately

We've got lots too, but we hope they will be repaired soon......☺️

Cleaned it. Silver cars carry dirt quite well but I was still surprised how dirty it was.

Also cleaned the roof and applied Autoglym roof protector which I'd been putting off doing with the recent hot weather and direct sun.  Noticed that the back edge of the hood fabric has stated to come out of the training edge where it is gripped in place.  Any suggestions to DIY fix it?  I have already tried to use some thin edged tools to work it back in but tricky on damp fabric and I seemed to make little progress.

I've been roofing today too!

Picked up one from an S so I now have lining.  Although currently the tonneau has stopped going up, which was the same issue I had when I bought it.  At least it's water tight now.

Is the adhesive gone? Seems to be more common now. I still need to stick mine back. Was going to use double sided tape.

Looks like time to invest in some 3M VHB tape to refit the way in the YT vid.  By the look if mine it is only the outer return of fabric that has come adrift and the hood had a new window vinyl panel fitted 3 years or so ago so could be a poor refitting.

I hadnt noticed but mine had been going for a while as it explains why the clam stood a bit proud all those months ago.

Got the Aircon recharged at Kwik fit as it's never worked since I got it a year and a bit ago.

I thought I would chance it as the condensers had been replaced a few years back from what I can see and was hoping I wouldn't need to do it again...

All seemed to go fine and I now have working Aircon for £65 :)

Also found a glass hood, which is being delivered tomorrow - so no more boxster chop providing I can get the old one off and new one on ok...

Just re stuck mine after the whole rear of roof came unstuck from frame using evostik 528 contact adhesive (you need an egg cup full I bought a litre 🤣). Took clam shell off to do it. A second pair of hands is essential as it sticks instantly 🙈 HTH

Started to replace worn tuning forks, coffin arms and ARB drop links. Also going to do the disks and pads.

N/S front all came apart without a problem, at some stage in the car’s life all the bolts had been freed off and given a coat of anti-seize, I was lulled into thinking “I’ll have this lot done by Sunday” Unfortunately my elation was short lived. The O/S drop link/hub pinch bolt was seized; and I mean seized. My bench drill wasn’t quite big enough to drill it out, and in reality I’ve never had much luck drilling out bolts bigger than 5/6mm anyway. So I welded the nut onto the pinch bolt and used a 1m bar on the spanner for leverage and together with repeated heating/cooling cycles, millimeter by millimeter it stated to free up. Then I smashed it out with a lump hammer.

Only another two to go.

Yes, heat and patience are what you need.

Took it through a minor service yesterday, also got the deteriorated front control arms replaced (the previous ones lasted 5 years and 40k miles) and had rear parking sensors installed. The sensors had already been painted to match the Meridian metallic colour of my car and they fit very neatly on the rear bumper. They look much better than OEM and you'd barely notice they're there at first or second glance. Then I jet washed it, removed all the contents from the car, rubbed off the duct tape residue from the windscreen and bodywork from earlier in the week where I had to patch up the missing driver's window with bin liner (found the glass shattered walking to the  company car park at work last week, got it sorted quickly via my Adrian Flux windscreen cover), noticed that peeling off the duct tape seems to have lifted some more paint off the door, and this morning I handed it over to a professional detailer who will pass it on to a bodywork specialist in a neighouring unit on tha, sane industrial estate. After it gets a door mirror, bumper and front bonnet respray and some local paint repairs, it will be treated to a deep clean, headlamp polish and ceramic coating. So now I'm a pedestrian for a few days what that work is being done. Can't wait to see the final result..

Has anyone removed the roof from there Boxsters permanently? please ignore the reasons why.....

The chap I have just purchased a roof from had - as his boxster is a track car with a hardtop so it was pretty redundant....

Just had to post this to share my elation! After the mammoth struggle getting the N/S rear coffin arm off on Thursday the O/S rear all came apart with far less effort, its a bit sad but this has made my week!

Two celebratory cups of tea required!
