TV8
I have been looking at getting a PDK Boxster. The move accross to using 2 seats as a daily has worked out fine but after many many years of using an automatic for driving around the south east, I am very tempted to get a 3.4 PDK Boxster. It will be easier in traffic and whilst the 2.7 is not slow, I am a firm believer of having something in reserve for special occasions! This car looks good: https://www.ashgood.co.uk/vehicle-details/Porsche-Boxster-U462 However, the car has been for sale for a while with Ashgood and that doesnt seem normal for them. I did call in there on the day I bought my car and they seem to have good stock and good stock turnover, so this sticking around seems a bit unusual. Apart from the paddles and the switchable exhaust, I am havent a clue what options are the desirable ones or even what are the usual ones. This doesnt seem to have a long-list so perhaps this is why its still for sale? Love the colour as well!
TV8
just see the title and it should be lite!
edc
Looks like full leather. No headlight washers so only basic lights and no heated seats listed. Not the end of the world for a weekend or drivers car but perhaps not so good for a daily. Is the interior blue? This seems to put some people off although I had Metropole in my first Boxster on a blue exterior and thought it was great.
edc
Also no PCM or cruise listed so another potential dent in the daily-ability.
TV8
Thanks. I saw the full leather, which I like on my current car. Not fussed about cruise control. I think I have that now and haven’t used it! Must read up on pcm.
bandit_287
Heated seats are a must, retro-fit PSE circa 2k, cruise around £400. PCM not necessary in my opinion, as long as it’s got sound package plus and a CDR-30 with Bluetooth it’ll be fine as the sound quality is really good. 987.2 is an excellent car, mines been really reliable with only a snapped window regulator in nearly four years. No other issues to report.
bandit_287
P.s. Sports design steering wheel with flappy paddles can also be retro-fitted too to get rid of those horrid buttons.
Greenman
I personally wouldn’t be worried about lack of heated seats, cruise etc, but if heated seats are important you can’t easily retrofit. This looks a decent price for year/mileage to me, as it’s been up a while they may take a cheeky offer at this time of year. If you aren’t looking for a Porsche Warranty (and with a late 3rd service that might not be possible) then you can look at aftermarket exhaust options if that’s a priority for you. I wonder if it’s accident repaired or has some other issues as despite a relatively low spec I can’t see any obvious reason it wouldn’t sell. Having said that I don’t like the steering wheel (sport design is so much nicer, and can be retrofitted, at a cost).
RBD914 v2
Looks like a good clean car at a reasonable price to me! Lowish spec but think of the weight saving! Nice colour, PDK and 3.4 litres of flat six engine to play with is all you need! Go get it bought man!
Nath
Last service was almost 12 months overdue which is a bit long given the two yearly interval is already lengthy. Aside from that (and the lack of seat heating) it looks good although I would budget for paddles and a Carnewal upgrade.

Billzeebub
For a daily I would always like Xenons, heated seats and cruise

Menoporsche
If the rest of the car is good, I wouldn't say heated seats are compulsory for a daily, you'll just give the blower fan a lot of exercise and you will drive less with the roof down during the winter or put a thicker coat on. Assuming your eyes are no longer 22 years old, I personally would say xenons would be a deal-breaker for a daily; for 2-3 months you'd drive home in the dark every day. However, someone just popped up here a few days ago saying they'd retrofitted HIDs4U to a Gen2 with no untoward effects so perhaps there's hope. Stuart21UK
the problem with a thread like this is the number of different views... personally I would have heated seats/cruise but wouldnt care about Xenons (does the 987 S have slightly more powerful lamps than the standard 2.7 anyway, like the 981?) I had the basic lamps on my 2.7 987 and they were fine for motorway and a bit of country lane driving at night...I've never had full power Xenons so maybe you dont miss what you havent had though Bottom line is the condition is important, options a very close second....all three of those services are 'late' 2days/1month/1year but it has had 3 services (2 minors and a major plus major other work) in the space of time a 2 year old car which had done 20k would only have had a minor (at 20k/2yrs)- that solitary minor would have basically oil/brake fluid/filters is it not? Pre-purchase inspection by one of the specialists if interested is an option?
