Lennym1984
So joy of joy the wet carpet bug finally caught me today. Its not too bad (hasn't spread to the footwell) and was caused by a slipped drain collar thing (it had dropped down and was blocking the hole) This got me thinking, what clever "hacks" have people found to prevent the dreaded wet carpets from happening? edc
A regular clean and inspection. There is no other fix unless you prevent the water entering the tray area in the first place.
Boxob
Not a fix but defences when it happens. There is a waterproof box into which the ACU fits available from America for around £200. Alternatively the ACU can be moved, but I've not seen that done yet, or it can be raised a little with spacers hopefully to clear the standing water. karlp606
Mines going back to Revolution Porsche tonight as Ive had issues with the passenger side and lots of water ingress but strangely the water seems to pass the ECU and go directly behind the seat! Dan from RP thought it was the seal between the pollen filter housing and the front firewall, but water is still coming in Danny also mentioned that the front drain holes near the battery are better out then in as the limit the amount of water which can escape they sought of act as a nipple, he said they are better out as more water can flow out rather than going through the rubber grommets which can cause the water to back up. RSGs are the black bits of plastic that are attached to the clamshell struts. If positioned incorrect or totally missing, water can run down the inside of the plastic housing that the seat belts go down into and end up behind the seat. The front passenger carpet is also getting quite soaked so Danny thinks its running from front to back when the car is being driven.
Patt
Hope it's not the main roof seal - from memory it was £850 from Porsche when Molly started to leak ! And that was after I'd paid out to have the door seals replaced first.

Have a look at this, diagram on the last post. There are a few parallel threads running on this at the moment (probably on account of the damp weather)! See the above and below - all useful info. In the link below it really gets on song from mvw's post toward the end of page 8 onwards (see the photo of how many extra litres his car has...)
