A good history is all. Good luck, enjoy the search.?
Menoporsche
Low owners or low miles is quite possible; both is difficult.
cheshirebiker
Such things DO exist : I'm the second owner of my '03 Guards Red 3.2S which has full history and only 29,400 miles......

mikefocke
Ya know, nothing matters beyond the maintenance history and the motive of the seller for selling. For both my Boxsters, I knew both. Each was a wonderful experience. Each was purchased for under what comparables were selling for. If you were to buy my second Boxster, you would be getting a five owner car. So what. Boxsters are cars for a time in a person's life and don't always fit with where life leads us. One was owned by a rich family who wanted the garage space for a Hummer (a huge gas hog SUV) because there were 3 kids and they couldn't use it to take them to the country club. One by a saleslady who needed a 4 seater for her clients. Each was a two owner car before me and each had some records. But those purchases were maybe ten years ago and most Boxsters move on every few years as life circumstances change. I got tire of juggling cars with only one driveway and used the car less and less so it was time to move on. Did the buyer get any less of a car because it was then a 3 owner car? No. And a few years ago I heard from the fifth happy owner. Your money, your decision.
topradio
I have owned my 986 from new (20 years in 15 days). I stopped using the OPC for servicing after 5 years as they were cr*p. Mine has nearly 80K on the clock so doesn't meet your criteria on that score either.
Southy
Mine fails on the number of owners it's had 5, and OPC service stopped at 4 years - that being said I've spent more on maintenance than I paid for the car 4 years ago, i'd take mine over an OPC serviced every day of the week. I wish the OP well I just wouldn't rule out non opc service cars, let's face it they stuff up some nearly new cars let alone old boxsters. He has a good budget so in time the right car will come up. AMacdonald
It can certainly be done. I'm the second (and first male!) owner of my 2003 2.7, which had 64K on it when I purchased two years ago. It had an OPC stamp every 6K miles too.

Sorry @Newboy986 My point was it's possible if the stars align, but very unlikely. I expect the car you eventually buy will either have more owners, or most certainly have independant service history. Good luck with your search ? the baron
Very doable with a little compromise on full OPC service history, good indies are better than OPC in my opinion especially on older cars where you actually have to get your hands dirty rather than letting a computer do it all for you. dieselpower
We bought a 2002 986S this week. Full service history (albeit mostly specialist), 55k miles, 3 owners with the last owner having had it for 9 years. Came in under your budget too :) They are out there, just be patient and prepared to travel for the right car. You'll probably have to look at a few to find the right one. I spoke to Auto Store about this one, it sounds lovely and has had a £9k engine rebuild. I just found one closer to home but we were considering this: https://www.autostoresales.co.uk/porsche986boxsters Good luck with your search. Just make sure wheel centres are correctly aligned and no weeds on drive or the BoXa police will be after you. Welcome anyway; if not already done you should introduce yourself in the newbie section...and update your My Ride.
SiPie
I am the 9th owner of mine. Purchased by me late March and had it inspected by an Indy Porsche Specialist just a few weeks ago and as I thought, it is in perfect fettle with 67k on the clock. FSH with OPC then followed by mix of OPC & full specialist.. depending on owner's preference. Recent complete suspension refresh (coffin arms, struts etc etc) new pads/discs/tyres and all 6 coil packs replaced and runs and handles brilliantly. Receipts showing previous owner spent £5k on it over the 2 years of his ownership and I'm quite happy to benefit from that thank you
