Good review. I really dont see how anyone can say they are slow.

i guess its in context to more modern cars but its still 200bhp in a 1,200kg car.  - i still think the boxster is one of the best cars i have driven through the twistys and bring a smile on my face. i liked his video - was good.

I guess he was as guilty as many at dismissing the Boxster but also like many when you try and drive one they are in fact good.

He refers to that 2.5 being on its 3rd IMS bearing with confirmation that at least the last change was done because of hype. Even confirmed that the 2.5 has  a dual row which is not known for its unreliability.

Shame he didn’t go back and edit his initial assertions that they are unreliable and lack torque. Anyone who’s pressed on past 4K rpm knows that is bunkum.

Yeah, I couldn’t believe it when he said it’s onto its 3rd IMSB, particularly like you say, as it’s a 2.5.

It was great to see his initial opinion change as he drove it though.

Only just got round to watching this, as spent the afternoon looking at a fair few of his videos.

I think the bit where he says if you don't enjoy the 200 odd bhp in this, then you won't enjoy 300 bhp in one either sums it up nicely :)

That’s possibly the best point he made, yes👍

They are frightfully slow for a porsche. My swift gti rally car would have had no issue to 120mph. (the gearing stopped it accelerating past there.)

Even one of my more standard swifts would have faired well. In fact I think there's a video on youtube of me vs a skyline with 300hp.

So yes they are slow, but fun.

And the Gp N Impreza and Gp A Escort Cosworth rally cars I nav'd in would destroy most supercars of an equivalent vintage to 60 but not go beyond 130 in tarmac config (even lower top speed in forest/gravel spec) because that's what they were designed to do.  Not sure I'd really want to commute or go on a touring holiday in one though...  However, who goes beyond 120 with any degree of regularity in a Boxster or even faster cars.  Its what it does that is achievable and gives reward in very day driving and the flexible ways you can use that huge performance envelope.

I've been standing there all morning. I still feel the same :)

They couldn't make the boxster any faster, as said many times before, it would make the 911 redundant

I drove my swift everywhere, at 20 years old I didn't care.

You're referring to proper rally cars.. I was mixing it up with Peugeots!
