Agreed, doesn't sound like a seller you want to buy from. Got another in the pipeline 2005 987 sports chrono fsh (seen the service book) 54k miles 8k seller has owned the car for last 6 years. Looks decent. I'm always staggered that these cars change hands for such low prices. Mine's done 73,000, no sports chrono and I'd feel robbed if I sold it for 8K. I know which of those scenarios is more likely near the end of October... That side I've done a verbal deal with a trader recently that he'd contact me if another buyer came along, who when I phoned to confirm I was coming down with the intention to buy just said someone walked in off the street and bought it since our conversation the previous day. I was lucky enough to happen on a better car anyway. I reckon you really need to decide exactly what you want, 986 or 987, tip or manual, standard or S and focus on that particular version. Choice will be more limited but you are more likely to be satisfied with what you get but your search will be more focused. If it is too far away or too much, wait and go to look at the next one. They (986 & 996) are lovely cars and the 911 is a true classic in many different versions. The new cars are probably faster and more sophisticated but for me, the early ones are better.
