  1. There was £41 shipping which there seemed to be no way of a cheaper option. No import tax tho on mine. So £286 all in

Comes from China,  not California. Imagine that!

I went for the clear one. Think it all depends on which tail lights you have

  2. So I watched a Peter Fritz video (here) https://youtu.be/7bPYpY-bG8s?si=hoRMbGichbt9ufGh how he'd added an LED light bar to his Boxster, and thought it was pretty cool.  Had a look into how to get it to the UK, and pulled the trigger the other day.  It arrived quickly, and with the help of a mate, fitted it today to my BGTS.  Now my mind is still split between "This is really cool" and "it's a bit Halfords add on", but for the moment, I'll keep it on.

Here's a few before/during/afters.  The bar is about 6-7mm but with adjustment there is only a marginal difference in the alignment of the spoiler when it's in the low position - noticeable, but not enough to be annoying (yet). Maybe with some other tweaking I can get it more flush

    Before

    981 light bar

    During

981 light bar 981 light bar 981 light bar

    After

    981 light bar 53277358783_e455009516_b.jpg

Will take another pic or two when it's darker.. so far I'm liking it a lot

  3. Mine out of warranty, so no option there.

when I looked into this before the snapped actuator can be replaced and is available, however the challenge is that the baffle inside the exhaust is generally what jams, it can’t move, so a new actuator will just snap again unless someone can magic up how to Sort the internal issue which results in the ball/post joint snapping.

for cars under warranty, PSE is 100% included, my friend with a 2012 991.1 has had both sides replaced

  4. After a load of hassle getting the car recovered from Edinburgh Airport secure parking, it’s now at OPC Glasgow and does need a new VTS. Supply and fit is £1197 :(
they did try the hard reset, but no joy. There are loads of reports of this unit failing on 981 and 991 cars, just Google ‘VTS Control Unit failure Porsche’ and you’ll be horrified at the number of these failures

    this also interesting  https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10199818-0001.pdf

quite annoying that I’ve had this on 2 cars now. Oh well, no such thing as a cheap Porsche!

Both PSE valves stuck (open) and as I know one of the actuators snapped so estimate to replace that is £4K not happening at this point!

  5. Resurrecting this thread, as the same thing has happened to my car again..  This 1/2 crank of engine and not starting

Never did get a root cause from the time it happened in Dec 2022, but PIWIS check at Indy showed no issues.

Car was left at an airport on Tue night last week, when we returned to it Sunday, it initially started for a few seconds, then died again.  Battery replaced again by AA as a diagnostic during recovery, but not made any difference (and now mine is back in)
Car with an Indy now after hassles of recovery in a secure Airport car park.  Will see what happens next week when Indy has capacity to have a look.  Thankfully I don't need the car for the moment.  Hopefully get to the actual cause this time

  6. Our Gen 2 Macan GTS has had the rear camera leak thing, fixed under warranty. More recently an annoying thing is the chrome trim from the window switches have popped off, again a warranty fix (1 done, 3 more scheduled to fix in 2 weeks).  Otherwise perfect, and brilliant

Overall, a Macan is awesome.  The Gen 2 infotainment is significantly improved than Gen 1, but the car under the covers is the same really.
Also agree on @CMA Heated steering wheel is great for UK winters... and an inexpensive option on Gen2. Heated windscreen also one I'd look for.  The Gen 2 light bar at the back makes for a more modern look too

I couldn't recommend these things enough. I've had a 2.0 as a loaner and it's worth a look and a great allrounder, although the S/GTS additional performance and sound is worth it in my opinion.

  7. Nice combo that a 981 GTS and a Macan...  :)

We've got a Gen 2 Macan without Air suspension and I'd agree with some of the comments - not at all necessary, even on 20's the ride is great.
It's all personal perf, but I think the silver RS wheels are way better than the black ones (which you could have refurbed black for about £65 a wheel if you must :) ). Silver wheels especially cool on a dark colour like Volcano grey or black - the contrast is great.

Recolour can be done by loads of folks, here is an example https://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/wheel-finishes/customise-your-wheels )

  8. Realised that if you have electric folding mirrors and you elect to not fold them on lock in the PCM, then you can hold down the lock key and it folds them in.  Makes sense with the window/roof closing thing, but the mirrors wasn't something I knew about

  9. That video from MR Sportcars is brilliant - he's got loads of great videos tbh)  There are so many guides on here to help without panels being taken off ( @daz05 and @Scubaregs to name a couple) - this just goes that bit further and shows how sh1t this design is!  I now (almost) understand why I got a large bill from my indy when my 981S suffered drain hole issues - it's a lot of effort, including the drying time.

  10. There is an awesome guide here if you fancy doing it yourself from @T24RES

Photobucket badness on the images has happened, but you get the idea

When I had my 981S in Agate grey I was going to do this, but rather than matching the colour, I wanted to go for the aluminium look.  A few cars have this and it looks great

I think @Toeside 's Black 981 has silver rollover hoops from memory (and a red roof, so it's proper cool!)

  11. Got our back after visit to Glasgow OPC.  Really great service from them.  Loan 2.0 Macan for 5 days while they checked out everything.  The T piece had split and there was water to be dried out from carpets etc.    They also replaced a window switch which had the chrome trim detach - all under warranty / no charge with generally excellent service - car was looking amazing after a thorough valet too when we picked it up.  Seems that there was another in too for same thing.   From recent posts here it sounds like dealers are accepting that it's a design flaw and will cover under warranty.

    Wet carpets ?

Nope, completely dry, now not using rear washer until it's been looked at (after skimming through the 63 pages of the macanfoum post!). The car just had a service in Jan where OPC topped up the washer fluid, and the later details in the post say it is generally done under warranty

  13. For a while now I've noticed that the rear washer isn't working (including the fancy wash of the reversing camera). Makes all the right noises, and reservoir is topped up, but nothing comes out of the rear jets (front windscreen is working fine).

Seems like it's "a thing" if I look here https://www.macanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=12897. It's due an oil service in a month, so will get the local OPC to do whatever it takes under warranty.  Drain holes on a 981/991 and now this..  and I thought it was all about German engineering :)

  14. Sounds like PCM needs to come out and check connections.  Was looking here to see if I could remember how the power is fed from fuse box to harness to the unit, but it's not too clear https://www.joyeauto.com/porsche-pcm3-1-cayenne-panamera-macan-boxster-911-wifi-wireless-apple-carplay-solution/ and my memory doesn't serve me well.  Could just be that something is dislodged - the mess of cables where the harness block gets added too can be very tight.

  15. Hmm, that sounds a bit odd.  What Daz said though - need to see if the fuse slot you are using actually is providing power to the joyeauto unit. Using unused slots probably won't help if they are "blanks" but another slot in the fusebox which you know is working would be my next course of action.  Are any other items in the car not powering up?

https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=933166 there is a pic of the fuses in a 987.2

Otherwise remove the PCM and check that connections haven't dislodged somehow
