Any good ? with a bit of fiddling, you can put your user name in the number plate. Not sure what quality this is might have a higher res. somewhere.
So if you right click go COPY IMAGE and then paste into word you can print off, cut out, and stick it in ones preferred location.

Yes, that’s what I do as the OEM tool slips on one of my headlights. 5mm socket, thin extension bar and I use a T bar handle so I can follow the positions in the instructions.
It is scary the first time, particularly putting the headlight back in and trusting that it won’t fall out!
Agree.
They also make a heart sickening clunk when you fix them back in position as well as when you pop them out.

Many thanks - I have never to date accessed the OBC so sounds like I need to find out how...
Have a look in the users manual too. I'm not sure if you change the lights from the OBC or it's a head light out job. (Very easy)You may be able to change speedometer to Kph in OBC too. I should remember more having owned a 987.2 🙄

Hope it goes well Peter, 👍

The B3157 Weymouth to Bridport road no less, atop Abbotsbury Hill, looking east with The Fleet and Portland in the background. A beautiful, brilliant road for a Box. Good to see, all the best for continued enjoyment.

Is it bad to say that review is soooo German. I watched for 7 minutes, and just had to stop when the ruler came out to check the depth of the respective frunks. Never been a big 911 fan, particularly the old ones, with the 911 convertible being one of the most awkward looking cars on the road for me.

I knew that but had forgot. Still see you in the white one. I like shark blue. Ford's sound fun. So, you going to open a Chilterns Car Museum when you retire or what 🤣🤣🤣

Very true, out of interest did you replace the engine?
No, I sold on as was. I had owned the car four and half years and did some work early on, so I had had my money's worth from the car in many ways. I lost 4 to 5k on what it would have been worth in good order. A garage owner gave me 2k, rebuilt the engine and then had it fail again I heard.
-
Bad luck, I know your pain Had my 986 break it's engine at 17 years old on half the miles of yours. No right or wrong as to what to do next, as many factors involved as you clearly appreciate. What helped me was to remember how much money you loose if you buy a new car then sell it 3 or 4 years later. All the best.

Indeed, kickdown kicking in when in manual mode made me jump. I have since learnt how not to be so clumsy & kickdown inadvertantly 👍

@Menoporsche @Stuart21UK @Davey P thank you for your kind suggestions but I'm devastated you all clearly think I am really that shallow. 🤣🤣🤣
That net things sounds handy though Meno, could it hold a small camera do you think ???

On your 718 4.0?
And the BoXa award for First World Problems goes to…
We should set up some categories vote at the end of the year and publish the winners with the calendar. The centre arm rest storage on the 981 is to shallow to contain my beautifully curved and colour coded Oakley sun glasses it's soooooo annoying. 😊

I had to scoop snow off mine today before putting back it back in the garage. I live in sunny, southern Hertfordshire.

OE cats which include all the heatshields are eyewatering at around £2.5k each!!! So a full new exhaust system aft of the manifolds for a 986 from Porsche costs about £7k so more than most cars are worth before a labour price is even thought about....
I thought you would know Chris 👍 I thought the exhaust was about 2k which given their longevity is not to bad. What I had no appreciation of was the cost of the CATs and shields which really does make alternatives a good option. I hope it's wee while before I need for exhaust surgery.
-
I wonder what the cost of a new 986 Porsche exhaust is? Anyone know, or care to hazard a guess. I think I would want to know that to put the repair/ replacement options into context.

I had my first wave from a boxster in the lake district on my drive home from picking up the car on Saturday. I did of course wave back 😀
I think they wave more in the north. All a bit "to cool for school" in Home Counties Hertfordshire, for waving, although Surrey is worse of course 🤣

Got an MOT done, pass, no advisories, 7,100 miles for the year. Did a nice little 650 miles trip up to N. Wales last week for 3 nights, staying in Penygroes in a nice AirBnB on a sheep farm. A snap below from our first evening of false promise as afterwards the rain was biblical.

Project 387
in 987
I have just seen the video which I missed last night. Looks even better and the tobacco tints within the gold are more discernable which only adds to the interplay between the shape, light and colour. Very inspired and thoughtful choice. Clearly, much admired and enjoyed already.
