I have a contact that you can post these to and he will fix them and send back. A proper 'man with a shed'!
This happened on my Cayenne and his workmanship was absolutely brilliant and much less than the usual suspects.

Don't try and drill them yourself leave it with a professional who will do it perfectly straight.

I find the popularity of this thread astounding 🤣

Very glad this sort of nonsense hasn't made it up here yet.

I'm a tart, and if I see them in time I'll wave to anything with a Porsche badge, no exceptions ☺️
A tart with a roof I heard.

I wave to everyone in my 981 except the SUV and Taycan community, it's not the done thing in those circles.

The S has bigger front discs but rears are the same and calipers are a different colour.
-
You'll miss the steering in the 987 if you sell that's for sure.
Even prefer the hydraulic steering in my daily Cayenne which is depressing.
-
Yes no affiliation other than buying one myself but I mentioned it would probably end up in a video and I asked for a code for others and he said to quote 'Test Drive Scotland' when you place the order or message them and the owner said he would do 10% off them for people.
The visibility out of the back is a novelty and I've had no issues with mine, other than it's a bit odd seeing the HVAC controls reflect on the clear screen with the roof up, I guess that is why Porsche didn't use a clear one.

Me ! But I only mess up, sorry I mean maintain my own car.
Any reputable garage can do discs and pads on it, very easy on the 981. Just make sure they are changing everything and not just the brake friction materials. I.e. caliper bolts and sensors.

I thought they had improved the design on the 981, that's a pain. Unlucky.
What year and mileage?
-
I just did mine, coming up just 20% under what I paid for it fully serviced, tyres, brakes and OEM warranty back in 2016 so I'll take that.
(We won't take into account any of my mods in this calculation 🤐🤣)

I actually think it's too expensive, 95% of 981s don't have anywhere near that mileage on them and asking price is low to mid 20s, it's not a typical 'clean' example which was my point.

Evans Halshaw have a 981 with sensible miles, I believe they use some fancy software to place their cars competitively and prices change weekly. £23.5k and has drifted down by £870 over the last month.
But there is a 2013 Boxster on Cargurus with a car dealer, FSH, HPI clear for £19,989.
It has been to the moon and back though.
-
I've been waiting for the mass drop to come but it's happening more slowly than I thought but values are down when you consider inflation.
You'll see the 987.2 advertised for under 20k not a clean 981 but it might come. Bargain when it does.

@Madlil still going strong.
When I did the Cayenne I bought used OEM ballasts on eBay and they were also ok.

Probably about time somebody shares that the wind deflector is pretty average anyway 🤣.. I'm comparing that to the S2000 I used to own.
You'll get the parts you need at the parts desk, I would think for far less than £250. You'll pick up a deflector on eBay or try the clear one I posted on here the other week.

I quite like the 718 intakes, or how about just painting the line in the middle of the intake body colour.

You got skills chap. Impressive repair and paint.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't sure about the GT4 vents. At some angles they look good, at others they look fake. And yet there is also the nagging feeling they may bring in more air to the engine...
My repair skills are alright but it's Gareth for painting, I sent mine to the painter but probably could have done it.

Lights finished and on the car ! Slight panic when I turned the ignition on and the indicator on the left side wasn't working, thankfully it was the bulb!

Umm I think they look good from certain angles and a bit awkward from others. It is the same on the GT4 but I think with the wing and the fact it is a GT4 you can sort of forgive them.
The angle I see them from the most when it is parked in the garage is a solid no also I think my white car needs the black vents to brake up the side.
I was out in it on Sunday and walking back to it on the carpark I thought they have got to go 👍
I noticed there is a guy on eBay who modifies these lights and fits all black inserts etc😎
Fair enough, yes they are asking £750 per pair and your old headlights part ex in return which is a bit steep, although considering the time and effort involved it's probably not so unreasonable, especially if the old ones are broken.
I picked up two very broken ones and thought I would have a go. Turned out really well. I'll try and sell the originals perhaps.
-
Just put a headlight in the oven to help set the sealant 🤣

After much deliberation I decided to remove the GT4 side scoops and go back to oem with a bit of mesh.
But before I get to the mesh I need to repair the holes in the original side vent. I had originally thought I would just buy new if I changed my mind but that was until I saw the price 😂
One all repaired and ready to fit and one ready for the repair treatment 😎
Why what was putting you off?

The risk is that it will snap (highly likely) and make the situation worse and then you are drilling through that as well.
