  1. I might need to do some work on how I'm explaining things 😲

I'm not really addressing any problem with the car, I have to be honest and say that I don't agree with your comments. This is an excellent chassis and the rear end on mine was and still is very planted. I'd suggest you take a look at your suspension geometry because it sounds off.

What I've done is actually reducing rear end stability so to reduce inherent understeer. Of course firming it up helps the suspension to work more efficiently but the ride is slightly worse than before.

It's a trade off I'm happy with because I want the rear to move like this in order to make the car more playful, I felt it was too well behaved/planted and set up to understeer too soon.

You will have seen me firming up the rear end with a stiffer ARB and chassis bracing to make the car more pointy, it turns in with more urgency, it's easier to provoke it now on throttle and the rear helps to push the car around more than before when I lift.

The electric power steering likes good geometry and and a good reading on the steering angle sensor to work properly. Alignment and reset is quite important otherwise it feels quite odd.

    Hope that helps.

I don't think so, it's the reason there are so many choices, we don't all drive the same and want the same things..

Perhaps you could provide a recommendation for Jim, rather than trying to be critical of what others put forward.

I'll stand by my answer considering the context as provided in the OP, but I'd be happy to hear all.about your views regarding the impact of lines, fluid and cooling ducts in a separate thread 👍

  3. @cozzykim good luck with the wife 🤣

And yes videos on getting stiffer are in the usual places,  but the bracing install I did is on YouTube. I did the x73 arb already but the bracing from the 718 has made a difference.  My Car feels really good like this, the suspension at the rear has a nice stiff chassis so can work more efficiently, it turns in sooner and on off throttle inputs help push you around tighter stuff.

The other thing they did with the 718 was add slightly beefier shocks, improve steering software, and more dish on the steering wheel.

That's something special indeed, if the chassis feels better than a 981.

I'd prefer silver wheels as well 👍

You can add the chassis bracing as I've done to the rear and yours will feel even better too. The downside is that they ride a little stiffer but that's ok.

Does the dashcam keep running after ignition off?

If you hook up to the console it runs until the the console loses power or it is locked. So not for very long.

However you have the option to hardwire to the fuse box if you want and then it has a switch on function if it senses a bump.

  6. Fitcamx is what I have. They provided me with one to test and I'm happy with it so far, I'll share it on a video at some point.

It replaces the mirror housing and plugs into the overhead console panel loom, plug and play. No mess, it looks very OEM.

    Link is here FitcamX Porsche

You could possibly be correct Daz.

I think it might be the extra power of the Cayman was the root cause as it was a boxster part that got fitted to the more powerful 340bhp Cayman by mistake.  :)

That pretend extra bit of brochure based horsepower they said they added to maintain the power to weight ratio after making them so lardy has a lot to answer for.

I agree the engine sounds like a bag of spanners and the exhaust note is not as fruity as the 981 but it’s bloody loud and my god it’s fast, press the overboost button and it is incredibly quick.

I'll have a sound off against you but I won't race you. 🤣

I went to look at the red GTS, not for me!

I just hope you can live without a flat 6 in your life.

And yes I am offended... Better nip to Specsavers and see if they have any ear defenders while you are there 🤣

  10. @moonshine 🫣🫣🫣😜, I'd like to query your optimism on depreciation figure for an S with an asking price of £38k, the bottom of the S market is sub £25k whereas the bottom of the gts market is £40k.

The other way to take my point is to consider that a good S in the lower £30s bracket is probably the sweet spot.  It is what I tend to recommend to most people, a nicely specified S at this price level is an absolute bargain Vs a GTS.

Still no feedback on the car as you asked OP, 🤣🤣🤣

Ps - I have spare leather console trims in my parts bin, they clip on and off so don't worry about that it is easily repaired or replaced.

  11. The plate looks familiar but I know nothing about it, it looks like a nice example, very smart in black. Priced on the higher side but it's stunning, good spec missing pasm but not a deal breaker.

If and only if.....your budget is up there and they can't discount the car I'd be tempted to look at a GTS if you are willing to pay almost £40k. Some red and white ones around in the mid to late 40s now. You'll have the cost of funding it but potentially a safer bet in terms of depreciation vs the top end of the S market.

  12. I think so yes screws are accessed from the rear with bootlid open to remove the spoiler, see if you can access or try a gentle pull up.

These normally get stuck up and not down.

Also check if you have any damp under the passenger seat that's where the module is that controls your spoiler, the rear bcm. It might be wet! Any other errors yet?
