A bit more relevant to this thread,

What would happen you put a copy of  SSD made from one pcm into a different pcm to replace a corrupted  / failed PCM HDD?

Would it work? Or would the fact the SSD was made from a HDD tied to another VIN mean it would not work?

I've not read the whole Rennlist thread but it seems swapping hard drives can cause problems. Post #8 is interesting though, he ran the update disc and his cloned drive worked.

  2. On the original 'My Porsche' App I had the build list of my car but it was updated and now tells you nothing. But I think you are right then I have a CDR+ system in my car.

It is basically the same as a PCM 3.1 but lacks the hard drive. The front panel and rear connections are exactly the same as a PCM 3.1 and it has a higher output then the CDR.

    Well researched @Jon61👍

  3. @Jon61 Yes the car is Dec '14 GTS and it does have the Aux/USB in the glovebox & DAB

When I removed the panel for the hard drive I seem to remember (2021 I did this) there is no facility to add one if I got a cloned unit.

  4. It is a PCM 3.1 unit on V4.73 software but no nav, phone, or jukebox. It does have sim slot but I presume it does nothing.

I was pulling it apart anyway to install an Isudar AA/Carplay board in it, but was surprised about it not having the hard drive.

It looks  like he has bought a later wheel, from a Macan or 718 perhaps, sent it to Royals Steering wheels for a refurb too most likely

Maps question is more how is the later steering wheel fitted as steering shaft is actually smaller on a 986. I hope Zagamuffin didn't just use to big washers😂

  6. I run Motul RBF600 and will be trying the RBF660 this year.

I was invited to a OPC trackday at Anglesey last year and was slowing repeatedly from 120mph. Brake pedal pressure was fine but standard pads were toast after the day.

  7. @moonshineAnother good question to ask Peter!  But yes you need a capacitor, Porsche us a 4.7uF and the guy in the original Rennlist thread tried varies but ended up with a 10uF cap. How much difference that makes I do not know and at my age I doubt I could hear the difference 👴

There is no way the capacitor connector that is stuck to the back of the bose tweeter is coming off.

Any suggestions for sourcing a connector  so I don't have to risk breaking the original tweeter and connector?

I used SCR for the door speaker connections, see if they do the tweeter
