Nice and smooth and very well behaved on the track etiquette.
I think the most famous heel and toe video is the split screen of Ayrton Senna in an NSX.
-
It's like trying to join a spinning playground roundabout. If you just jump on from a standstill you might o some damage but if you were to move at the same pace it's nice and easy.
-
If you downshift at high rpm and let out the clutch you will get a big lurch as the clutch and engine attempt to match the speeds. The heel and toe smooth this out.
-
My gearbox mounts are only PU filled on the hydraulic fluid side. I opted not to do around the stud too.
-
And facelift is different to pre-facelift which have a welded on tip. Other than that I'm sure the 2.7 and 3.2 box are the same.

A good used standard box then the aftermarket manifolds and cats will work. Otherwise get a Dansk OE Style equivalent exhaust with the aftermarket manifolds and cats. You can buy more expensive versions of these from the likes of Dansk, Cargraphic, Supersprint, but since you started looking at cheap exhaust systems, the eBay items work well too.

I think I've already written before but I have tried most of the combinations of this. The noise is from the backbox in the main. You can channge the manifolds and cats and it won't be that much more noisy at all.

Has anyone tried these full decat exhaust systems from gravity?
These are all the same as the generic eBay ones. Get the equal length manifolds rather than the stainless version copy of the original design like your link.
-
They are meant to reduce dB for track days. Basically work like stuffing a banana up your tailpipe.
-
Should be some sound clips on the sticky in exhausts and styling section.
-
If they have never been off and it is really crusty underneath then probably all 12 will have a similar fate.
-
If you are happy with the standard sound and volume then you mostly likely won't like the cheap exhaust. It is a lot lighter. Each of the parts is much lighter than the standard equivalent. There is no cheap alternative that keeps the same sort of sound. To do that you are looking at a Dansk which are £700+. Good used original boxes are jncrainglg hard if not impossible to come by second hand. I bought mine for £50 in 2013 and it has from memory about 25k on it and had been off a 2003 car for 3+ years already.

There are lots of old posts on the eBay exhaust, rebranded as Toyosport, Direnza, more recently Gravity. It's loud and drones in summary.
-
No different to a 987. I had them done at Wrightune and Revolution. If you're doing have a search as a few have done it at home too.
-
It's effectively a damper. If a car didn't have a damper but a solid connecting rod then all the impact from the road would transfer straight into the car.

Ok so I have completely lost the plot?!?!
Maybe 🤔

I see even the cheaper sports cats now are £300+. These same items were around £130 a while ago.
-
You can get decat pipes for less than half that price. You can also simply gut a cat. It's not quite the same but may be a cheaper option.
-
A dual mass flywheel doesn't change weight so it can't be lighter at high revs. It's mainly for NVH and you also get the rotational effect off throttle too.
-
I've had the sports manifolds on both my 986 for over 10 years now and sports cats for most of that time too. Most of the sound volume is in the back box.
You could get sports cats or just decat pipes.
-
From memory mine is a 6pk2075. Lots of options out there.
-
If you want a snappier throttle response then consider a remap as that will generally include adjustment to the throttle request maps. For better revving at the top end get some sports manifolds and perhaps some sports cats.
-
Personally I'm not a fan of the flat bottom or shaped wheels. Slim round and just the right diameter is where it's at for me. I generally find most cars have the wheel too fat.
-
@map is one of the only active members with a light weight flywheel. Given your use of doesn't sound like it will be a good option for you. Sounds like you want usability rather than 'focussed'.
