I fitted the same to mine a couple of months ago. Pretty easy job as long as you have access.

Let us know how you like it, is it too rough?

just replaced my OE 987 part for the second time in 30k miles. Not sure I want to be doing it this frequently

I didn’t notice any vibration or harshness during the two shortish test runs that I did. Will be taking the car out again tomorrow as hopefully it will stop hissing down with rain! I will pay more attention, but I’m sure that it was perfectly fine.

Took Boxster in to my Porsche specialist for a 4 wheel alignment & check over before trips to Holland & Ireland, whilst there the clutch release bearing decide to start making an horrendous noise, like the bearings have gone square!

So car going to be having new EPS IMS bearing kit, new Sachs clutch kit, & new LUK dual mass flywheel- ouch.

Car has done 72,000 miles and all those bits are original. Just good job it didn't happen on the Ferry to Holland!

Replacement centre cubby cover finally arrived so I'll be putting that on in a bit :)

It's starting to come together now. Still waiting for the carpets to arrive and once they do I'll be straight back in there and whip out the graphite grey. Can't wait.

I have the EPS IMS “solution”.

Put a new RMS in while it’s all apart it’s a simple job and not expensive at all.

How is the AOS? It’s much easier to change while the gearbox is out and again it’s cheap enough, especially compared to the clutch and EPS bearing.

@Everywhen Thanks for your reply the AOS was changed in 2019 & about 15k miles ago with a genuine Porsche part, so my Indie has decided to leave it alone. I believe that the RMS is being changed as well, I will check tomorrow. Thanks for the. Heads up.
How have you found the EPS IMS soloution? How many miles you got on it.

Was this in Malton? I’ve just been there and seen a Boxster on the lift with exactly that fault description.

Yes it is in Malton @ Sam Lander Porsche, a red Boxster S. Had they started work on it?

just seen in your bio where you are from, did Sam do IMS work on your car?

Yes, he's started work on it, gearbox off, clutch removed, it looked well worn.

Sam did my EPS IMS, clutch and RMS back in May last year, he's a top bloke, no BS or keeping you in reception and nowhere near the guys working on your car, straight into the workshop, tea and cake. As it should be.

I'm in York.

Fitted the passenger Elise seat the afternoon.. There is about 4" headroom above my 6'-2" frame and I can stretch my legs out fully.8d0A5R5.jpg

Finally gave it the first wash of the year, polished the glass, started trying to remove marking/mould from the hood around the rear window (I was recommended G101 by Dove House's valeter and not to hold back on agitating it with a fairly stiff brush; it does seem to have shifted it quite well.  Will do another treatment before a clean and proof with the Auto Glym kit) and also applied Gummi Pflege to the door and roof seals.  Might need to buy some more after 5 years.

G101? And from where, please?

Put it into eBay, quite a lot of outlets sell it in varying quantities.,  I got 1 litre, which at 8:1 dilution for this sort of application will last me pretty much for ever...  That said it works as a degreaser too for engine bays and the like at higher concentrations.

I buy it in 25 litre drums and use it all the way from neat (wheel arches etc) to circa 30% as an APC.

Avoid the cheaper options that claim to do the same, they are no where near as good.

Strong mixes there!  General cleaner is supposed to be 8:1 according to the Auto Smart data sheets.

I guess it depends on what you are cleaning.

I have been using G101 for over 10 years and it is brilliant stuff!

A couple of jobs this weekend. I fitted the 997 seats and like them a lot. The interior of the car has a few different shades of grey and they look good. I had also tried to put my private plate on having finally got TFL to agree to transfer across my existing ULEZ compliance status to the private plate and the first time I tried, the existing front number plate plinth was full of holes and splits, so I ordered a new one from Porsche. For reasons best known to Porsche, despite taking my VIN number, they originally supplied one for a US spec car!

Replaced my amber lights with clear ones, seem to have a bit of an issue with the gasket on one of the rears sealing properly so may need to buy a replacement gasket. All in all a rewarding job though.
