Slightly less impressive than the diy paint above, but I thought some of you may be interested in the results of my Autoglym roof clean and re proof. It’s the first time it’s rained since I did the job and so far I’m quite impressed

Awesome result :thumbsup_anim:  I used the Autoglym 2 part cleaner and proofer for the first time the other day, and after yesterday's rain it didn't bead up anywhere near as good as yours.  I think I must have not sprayed enough on, maybe I'll try a couple of coats next time to build up the water proofing.

I’ve proofed the hood a couple of times but don’t bother with it anymore. I feel the roof drying takes longer when proofed.Sorry guys just my honest opinion.Bead porn aside...

As it wont soak in as much, you could probably just use a leaf blower or go on a 2 minute drive to blow it all off before drying the rest of the car.

I tend to do this anyway to clean up the brakes, rotate the wheels so I can clean the tyre section touching the floor and the top of the wheel barrel can become the bottom for ease of cleaning angle.

It was more about the fact my roof was blotchy with tree sap and had gone grey for me. The beading is satisfying though.

Good call @Jason986S It’s more a case of when we have a bit of rain when out or whatever the roof will stay wet for  longer if proofed, I prefer not bothering so the roof can be stowed away sooner. As I say I’ve used the  fabsil gold and it looks good when done...

I used the cleaner sponge to agitate the roof whilst spraying it with a hose after cleaning to really make sure that I’d got all the detergent out. I was surprised how long it took. I think that may help.

Ah, nice one mate, that's a good tip.  I'll try that next time I wash the car (which will probably be quite soon! )

Have the usual chips at the front end of the driver's side roof trim nSe2d9S.jpg

After checking some old threads on here i have now filled them with Black Sugru. Leaving overnight and will then remove excess and hope problem solved. Pic tomorrow.

Edit: finished result. May need a bit more polish but definitely an improvement.jMzP55a.jpg

apart from the stupid plug on the Bose back shelf speaker 😡

I have to check that on mine one day.  Someone complained his speaker never worked and after a lot of troubleshooting finally found out a previous owner/servicer hadn't plugged it in properly.  Mine seems to do nothing, I wonder if it's the same.

I'm in no hurry, I barely drive the car, and barely use the speaker when I do, it might therefore get used twice a year...

Fitted my replacement battery after the previous one turned faulty. This allowed me to fix the hood again which was not seating correctly in the channel on one side. Previous attempt  to shorten the stretched elastic by folding and stapling was unsuccessful. This time i removed the T15 screw which holds the elastic to the frame, moved the screw to the next slot in the elastic and refitted it. Perfect solution and easier than fitting new elastic as featured in the well known Youtube video.

Finished replacing the water pump, low temp thermostat, belt and of cause coolant.

Just given her a wash before putting back in the garage.

Next weekend will be brake fluid change. Anybody recommend a brake bleed kit, seems to be a lot available?

I bought this one.

Until then, I’d never bled brakes in my life. Found it to be easy to use and straightforward.
