Freshly painted wheels back today, 2 tone light anthracite and silver edge. Pictures don't do them justice, they look faultless!!!

Just need to mend myself and get off these crutches now and fit them ☹️

@detail1, they look awesome 👌.  Looking forward to seeing a picture fitted👍

Had the aluminium cross over pipes and hoses replaced today as they had been leaking.  I only bought the car recently and missed this important detail (heart/head) so just needed to get it done so I can continue to enjoy the driving.  Took the car up into central London to collect supplies from my office - must say on the way back tried the PASM sport button and really enjoyed it - great fun - so very happy tonight.

All sorted then 👍

Yes - thank you for all your help and advice, in the end I decided to get it done by DSD Motorwerks, as to be honest I was not confident enough to do this myself.  I will be doing a full service though and plan to get stuck into some more mechanicals after that.

Finally got rid of the dog's dinner on the boot and returned it to how Gott intended.

 That really was awful!

I don't see why people want to change the badges to something from a newer style model. It's not a Halfords add-on car.

If the rest of the car is standard, then leave it standard. If the car has had lots of modifications (as I'm sure 99.9% of them haven't)  then fair enough.

Looks much better mate, nice one.  You should think about getting rid of the Boxster badge as well.  I've just done that on mine, and I think it looks awesome :thumbsup_anim:

I was tempted to be fair. I kinda looked back and forth at the bare lid and the badge I'd just spent £60 on and eventually, well you can see. But it was close.

Sorry buddy, but the "before" pic without the badge looks much better to me.  Especially in that gorgeous grey metallic, you've got to be happy with that! :thumbsup_anim:

I've just realised, this gives me a good excuse to post a gratuitous pic of mine:

Dent man came yesterday, took out a couple of Tesco marks. Now booked in for stage one - two paint correction and ceramic coating.

New mats too, so a big week considering the circumstances.

Got sent man coming Monday to take out crease from front wing from someone opening door into it. Going to get details of paint chip specialist as well.

New pollen filter for the car today, was surprised to find no metal clip holding the air filter in but a slide on plastic one !

I have also Washed the seat belts as they were not retracting very well so will see if that helps once they have dried properly.

Please report back on the success, or otherwise, of the washing and what you used as my driver's side belt is very lazy at retracting.

@Jonttt recently washed his seatbelts and described the process in his Black Edition running report...

Yep, has made a big difference.......its the crud that builds up over the years......get rid of that and it retracts a lot better ;-)......before I had to consciously "feed" mine back in....now it just retracts like it should

This is another little job i MUST get round to doing soon.  I had assumed the seat belt spring loaded mechanism was worn, because mine needs to be fed back in manually as well. If it's just a case of cleaning the belt webbing, that will be a great result, cheers for yet another helpful tip :thumbsup_anim:

Today’s job

swapped out the ignition switch this evening and got a new trim. The parts is updated to a 07 at the end from a 03. The key action feels a lot newer. 7F2A5CB7-AE77-407C-832B-A9D2A21DB1C5.jpeg.20a067666f024c5c1cf356b1bed9aa6e.jpeg

Took me about 30 minutes. I recommend locking a spare key into the new switch . Tying  some trainer lace to the top of the key then pulling it through the dash.
im hoping this cures my random not starting fault
.

Also you 100% don’t need the special tool Porsche recommend I used a flat trim tool.

Has anyone changed the high beam to Led?

I fitted the recommended LED headlight bulbs and all went well - nice and bright and so far no canbus errors. I am also interested in replacing the high beam so I messages the seller and this is the reply...

"Here is the link of H9:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XXX/274385279187
Your car model may indeed have decoding problems, we can recommend a decoder (but our decoder can only decode 95% of the car models, it does not necessarily guarantee that you can decode your car model).
If necessary, please contact us."

The lack of guarantee on errors is putting me off having a go but I might succumb and try them later.
