Good luck finding one that doesn't weep, I would stop looking now if that is one of your criteria.

Well I have to last Porsche specialist where it had over 5k spent on it in April, there is wording on the service invoice that says 'other works as agreed per whatsapp' so they are going to look into it for me.

Flat six performance is business name.

can you not give them a call directly and ask them - you have the reg number - they should be helpful if you explain your situation - might be better than getting a 2nd hand version via the seller?

I've spoken to Garage who serviced it, they were very helpful and going to get back to me. It does make me think though, they sell high end Porsche but won't put this one through the business! Rabbit off or tax dodge or is car dodgy and I have no come back through the business?

it does make you wonder - pretty sure there are rules about dealers trying to pass cars off as private, but if its going down that route, it needs to be really cheap to cover your risk as you don't want to get into a battle - you'll have to accept it as a private sale and act accordingly.

Sorry - thought it looked like a good one - but appears to have uncovered issues!!

Some dealers wont retail vehicles above a certain age as they do not want to dilute the forecourt.

Every single car you post will get opposing opinions from forum members and you will overthink it and talk yourself out of every single one.

At the end of the day, at sub £10k you are not going to get a perfect car regardless

Adverts look good, seems if he wants me to go through dealership I have to sign a disclaimer, guess so that's no come back. Think I will pass. All sounds a bit sketchy.

To be honest, it's the same as a private sale at the end of the day, no comeback. Depends if you are willing to take the risk or not.

If the price is right and you have a slush fund for an IMS replacement, it could be a good deal as the car does look tidy.

Gut if you'd prefer some backup, a dealer purchase is the only way forward.

No right or wrong answer as everyone has different levels of risk

He has said he will try and get the car MOT'd even as quick as tomorrow possibly, sadly I don't have an endless fund of money, unless my numbers come up, lol.

I always much prefer to buy privately, enthusiast owned loads of receipts etc-and I know I’m on my own if things go wrong.

I would definitely not buy a car from a trader that wouldn’t stand by the car and wanted to put it through as a private sale in his own name or as a trade sale with no comebacks!
Because the car looks nice and shiney  he thinks he can get a bit more for it than if he put it through the auctions. Bloody Arthur Daley ..

Engine number to be sure on IMS, details below, but it only affects very early 987s. The oil leak will most likely be the rear main seal, but it in very rare cases could be oil weeping from a duff seal on an IMS....  Gearbox out is the only solution for either and whilst you are in there do  the clutch anf flywheel, so a 4 figure job.

Going to look at a 987 2.7 tomorrow, engine number 61504195, so am I right in thinking if the IMS needs done it can be done when changing the clutch only. It's only done 58k miles but serviced on time up until 3 years ago, but done very little miles since last service.
