I didn't think that the 4S's were N0 rated?
Yep they can be had with N0 rating. I have 2 on the front of mine 👍

Don’t you just love grease monkeys that scratch your alloys while fitting tyres… he did apologise(only after I’d pointed it out)and they’re paying for it to be refurbed. All four of those wheels were 100% mint condition and original too.
Make sure you have a decent company refurb them, someone like Chris @ Exel Wheels who delivers a very good service and product https://www.facebook.com/EXELWHEELS
I had KwikFit damage mine while fitting a tyre and given evidence from Chris about the refub process and the differences to the other 3 original wheels they ended up buying me a new wheel at a cost of over £2k.

That looks great 👍
Maybe you should do a write up on how you did it and what it cost?
I’m interested in doing this job myself!

It does depend whether you have the N0 or later N1 P Zeros. N0 are at the very least bloody dangerous and especially on cold & wet roads - so I'd stick by my lethal wording if you have an unexpected off.. They will let go when the N1 will grip & the step up to the MPS4S tyres is a big one.
You really ought to budget for new tyres if you like to push on & the car you're looking at is on P Zeros.
I didn't die either with P Zero N0 or N1 tyres on my car, but the speed at which you are safe at differs drastically.
I've had all 3 of the tyres you list on my car over the last few years so have first hand experience of the differences. Only driven the N0 on track though so have no real world comparison there. It was certainly an eye opener when I went to the Michelins though, much improved confidence in the front end

Is this just hearsay?
Nope, lethal is probably a bit over the top but the Michelins give much more confidence in all weather conditions, the Pirellis are great in heat or on track

By the time you're in hooligan mode you'll be no where near the neighbours, since when do neighbours dictate what car someone buys?

Looks like you have a sale there @bally4563 👍

Sheffield OPC have come back at £52.39 inc vat each
From Design911 £54.42 inc vat each plus £8.95 postage
From 9-Apart on eBay £51.95 inc vat and inc postage each
Just noting this here for my future reference as the funds I have are now reserved to fix the house roof given we lost some tiles last night

Thanks all so from the ebay listing and a pic of @Patt posted here: https://www.BoXa.net/topic/88910-981-led-side-repeater/
The part numbers are:
991 631 255 06
991 631 256 06
I've emailed Sheffield OPC to see what price they are, then I'll decide if to go for genuine or the ones @jago lists

I've seen a few on here have fitted LED side repeaters to their 981. Does anyone have the 2 part numbers for them and what price they paid? I tried a search but failed to find them

You get Sport without Sport Chrono, so unless your tracking🤔
To me the car drives very different in Sport and Sport+. Different levels of PSM, so more slip before it kicks in on Sport+, different throttle map, less PSE noise in Sport+, much faster gear changes in Sport+, different feel through the car. Totally usable on the road in manual. Just not in Auto. Auto is only for the track imo. If you have it on a PASM car, there's more differences between Sport and Sport+ but I don't have PASM so couldn't comment on the differences

Can you not rev it out in sport manual mode without sports chrono?
You can rev it out in any gear in any mode while in manual if you want. But the pdk change map is different from normal to sport to sport+ and the speed of gear change is faster is sport and even faster in sport+

Is that what can cause issues with PADMs rather than normal use?
Nope, it's what they are there for to stiffen up the rear and get the power down without the transmission slopping about. In the same way a racecar has solidly mounted engine, not great for comfort but better for dynamics. The reason the mounts fail in internal electronics and sad to be down to a faulty batch around 2013-2015 models. Same part is on the 911s too and known to fail

What performance does sports chrono add though? Is it not just smoother gear changes?
It's not smoother, but faster gear changes. Almost brutal. In auto mode it holds each gear until the redline, so on the road it's not great. But in manual mode you can change when you want

I have Sports Exhaust and Sports Chrono. I dont find comfort an issue on the 20" without PASM and causes no issues pushing on either, I don't feel any need for PASM.
I would not live without Sports Exhaust though, makes the flat 6 sing. But can be retrofitted by Porsche so consider that as it might open up more cars to you.
Sports Chrono, perfect if you track the car. Launch if you have PDK. Great for driving around roads with Sports+ in manual mode if you're out for a heavy spirited drive. Yes it has the worry of the transmission mounts, but they may have been replaced on a many cars by now so daft to rule it out based on that. Plus its a pretty simple job to change them.
Out of the 3 I'd choose the car that had the history, condition and other spec I wanted and if it didn't have PASM or Sports Chrono I don't think I'd be too bothered (I'm not as I don't have PASM in this one) but Sports Exhaust is a must for me.

What's your concern with leaving it out over winter? Is your only parking under a tree and sap is a worry?
If it's open space, not under a tree then a year or two outside is nothing. Had mine outside for a couple of winters with no cover but I have no trees overhead.

Well done? Easy to do?
Yep, easier than I was expecting. But not finished it yet and not driven it, the geometry can be affected so we'll find out when I get it finished and on the road

Well confirmed it's a straight swap. Got bored and finished work early so went for it.
Went from this:

Winner! Just got to finish putting the transmission plate, diagonal braces and undertray back on, that's a job for another day along with a fuller write up on the process.
Now waiting for the right one to fail.....

Speaking of cost....wonder if I should charge per view of my "HowTo" and "StripDown", might cover the cost of the parts eventually 🤣😂
From a quick look they don't look easy to disassemble without an angle grinder, but I'll look closer when it's off.

Also, would a pre purchase inspection pick up if these were on the way out?
Nope, nothing visible on the mounts to indicate failure, only the warning on the dash once there is a fault. But you can ask whoever is doing a pre purchase inspection about it and see what they say, they probably know more than me. Let us know what they say.

Parts alone are almost £1k . And there's 3 to 4 hours of labour on top. Just collected my parts yesterday and will be swapping mine out at the weekend probably.
And yes, that is 8 nuts at £2.17+vat each in there.....

So 6'ish months on, how are you finding the X73 setup? Toying with the idea of the rear roll bar change but thinking it might make more sense to go the full hog so interested to hear your thoughts 6 months on
