JohnnyUK
127000 and no major issues to date. Coils are cracked and there is a minor fluid leak somewhere but it still does 60 in 6seconds!
golfprorich
Mine has 135k on it, but about 30k ago had a Hartech engine rebuild that cost more than what I paid for the car! I am hoping there's plenty of life in it yet

Mr96er
118860miles coil packs and plugs replaced at 105k maf replaced at 108k car driven hard every weekend. I changed the oil at 108k and it seemed to use a little. I've since used a "treatment" that seems to have unstuck the rings and restored normal performance. I intend for this to be my first "car for life." I'm going to drive it like I stole it, and then patch her up as needed. I think these engines are superb! Boxey11
144000 miles on my S. Bought new in 2001 and still my daily driver. No major issues just the expected wear and tear and usual issues like AOS, various electrical switches replaced etc. The suspension is rattling & could do with a refurb at some point but it's a great car and hopefully will keep going for a good few years yet. Growls more like! I can vouch from personal experience having followed Loz's car on a spirited drive up The Strines this weekend, that his car goes like stink, smokes it's rear tyres, handles like its on rails and takes all that I have just to keep up with it on the back road twisties in my GTS! Those early 986 engines are certainly strong on performance. Respect!
