I washed the car for the first time in a few weeks... was just a quick wash and dry but the layers of polish from last year have done a great job of protecting the paintwork from Winter. A couple of small bits of kerbing but I will get the wheels refurbed in a few weeks anyway.
I have the quandry that I will soon lose the driveway that the car currently gets to park on. The woman that owns the house and kindly let me use her drive sadly passed away a few weeks ago.
So, when the house gets sold I will be fighting for the spaces out front on the road which is not ideal. This has led to me considering selling the car and buying something worth a lot less. I am still undecided as although I do not do a lot of miles (3,400 in the 11 months I have owned it!) I do love driving it. We will see though.. a couple of quick snaps

Or fix the drains... A cover shouldn't be required if they are clear and the closing seals on everything are in good order. Apply some Gummi Pflege to the door and boot rubbers to be sure.
Nah Cayman owners do not go for the easiest / cheapest option as @Davey P has proved time and time again 😁

True.
I have just been talking to my Mechanic son about it and we both agree that it sounds like an air leak. Will look carefully for any split hoses or something that is out of place as a start.
Deviating from my minor problem. My son who runs a very small local Garage had one of his local customers who has several Porsches in last week. He brought in a four-year-old Porsche GT3 RS for its first MOT. Obviously he had to test drive it and reported back that yes, they are rocket fast!
If it was my car I would be p*ssed if a garage took it for a "test drive" when it was only in for an MOT.
Lets hope it was with the owners consent and if not lets hope he does not have dash cam. My friend caught a main dealer out when he took his Yaris GR in when the tech obviously forgot it has dash cam 😬

Lights up during the day as well. Just not as obvious.
I have used it a few times when I have done “laps” around my local brake drying route.
Records a trace and comparative “lap” times on the pcm.
i also put it on some nights when I am just driving - giggle factor.
Just checked... it does indeed light up when in use.

Mine is illuminated if sports chronos is running or had been running and not reset. It’s a little distracting (reflection) wise at night but does make me giggle.
Ahh I have never used it, will check later to see if it lights up at night while in use

Look for some old posts by @Berty987The other big difference is the manifolds and cats. The 987.1 has a better flowing design than the 986.
I put my 550, on 105k ish at the time, on the Dyno a long time ago and it wasn't running perfectly at that time and it did 272bhp from memory. A box fresh 987 3.2 would have been 280bhp in theory.
I can see if being the same or more as a 987 with some minor basic mods.
When I had my 987.1 3.4 I put that on a dyno, it was meant to be 295bhp from factory. Germanic efficiency

No point asking him about PSE... he owned a 987S and did not even realise it had PSE

Had my 986S about 5 years, was my first Porsche and was bought 24 hours after a conversation at work about 2 seat convertibles and was the first one I saw. Eventually it made way for the first of 3 987S that I have had.
Was a great car and I changed the lights for later spec ones and put 987S wheels on which i think suited it and made it look a bit more modern too.
Biggest downside on it for me was the interior was soooooooooooooooooooooo old looking compared to the 987

When I got my replacement front Yokohama tyres, Kwikfit were the cheapest as they had a deal on

I used this on my scuttle panel and all the other plastic trim on the exterior. Brought it all up lovely and nearly a year later still not fading at all
