  1. If you can lift the carpet so you can see the sound deadening foam it makes it easier to wring it out to get more water out. A hair dryer will also help for that area too.

Quite likely that control unit will be goosed now

my biggest problem is that I have a white car with Sand Beige interior. So I cant choose the best color to paint the console. White would look wrong with the beige and nothing else is black

It was a factory option to have the centre console and roll hoops in body colour, if it helps!

  3. Nothing to report really...Car is now on 81,800 miles... when purchased on March 15th it was 79,410, so now 8 months of ownership and managed a mere 2,390 miles.

Car continues to perform perfectly but with my commute being a total of 20 miles a day I am really not doing it justice.

Still tempted to sell and get something a lot cheaper given the lack of usage but we will see. I think if I was offered north of £20k I would have to seriously consider it.

Just sold the motorbike and not looking to replace that so the bank balance is at least looking ok.

Might throw some money at the house, nothing like @Araf's spend though 😬🤣

Th amount of ego on all the PH Porsche threads is laughable - all trying to outdo each other with the price of their 911s, I always point any Boxster questions to this forum as you won’t get any sensible answers on there

Where are the sensible answers on here? 😬🤷‍♂️🤣

WBAC isn't, and has never really been setup for Porsches and higher end sports cars - they want bread and butter motors they can punt through the auctions quickly and easily - that's why their prices are low, they don't want the cars. There will always be a few idiots that take the offer because they can't be bothered to do some leg work or believe the ads.

That was the case before they set up Cinch. So they have the market covered both ways, BCA own WBAC and Cinch... anything not retail worthy goes through BCA and anything good goes to Cinch. Win, win for them

  6. My previous 3 Boxsters were manual and the current one is PDK. I find it really smooth, but it is a different drive and you have to get used to them.

Also be mindful that the gear change is different in each of the standard / Sport /  Sport + modes. If I am feeling lazy I have it in Standard mode with the PSE on, if I am in the mood Sport mode with the PASM off and PSE on and a couple of times I have had Sport + with everything on.

It does make me wonder what I could get for mine with every option ticked apart from TPMS and with 81k miles on it. With the bonnet and front bumper resprayed and the new rear bumper it is pretty hard to find fault and the interior is spotless :D. I have been offered north of £20k by a guy on the Facebook forum without even seeing it. I see a lot of lower spec cars at more but as @Mattman42 knows as he monitors them, those ones are not really selling at those prices.

no fair - is it for sale?

It would break your budget if I were to give you a price lol !

As Paul says, having Sport and Sport + with the PDK and PSE is great... nice to be able to turn PASM off when in those modes as well if you want to.

is it just me but is the letting placed in a curved pattern like in a semi circle shape?

I am not a big fan of this lettering on the 987 as the boot shape etc doesnt suit it, but everyone is different :)

  9. Google "Car auctions near......" ;)

Anything is possible... I became aware of the auction my car was in 3 hours before it was due to end. I got registered to bid and bought the car all without even seeing it in person. Drove the 80 miles to collect it 2 days later.

Yes it is a gamble, but I ended up with probably the higest spec 987.2 in existance for sensible money. It could also have been a lemon but you pay your money, you take ya chance

Why are some 2006 2.7 on higher tax, then 2007 ones aren't, I don't get it. I know it's on emissions. The higher tax is a killer I will be honest.

5 speed version versus the 6 speed version

    £695

I always wanted to ask if anyone knew why the 2.9 and 3.4 are that much but the 3.2 is £395? (apart from the obvious, 'they produce more CO2").

the 987.2 3.4 litre is £395, its all to do with emissions on the 987.1 3.4 being higher

Personally I'd rather buy privately then from an Arthur Daley type with no interest other than applying a machine polish and £3k to the price you could have bought the car for a week earlier.

Hey, @Mattman42 does more than just add polish.... he sometimes vacuums them out too!

I've seen a 07 987 S 3.4 it says FSH however he has sent me the records but it's not had a major service since 2015, all minor since.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Expensive road tax version

I think @Bike Loon had a high miles 987.2, might give you an idea.

I know nothing of the market but wonder if 10-12k is ballpark.

Nope that was a 3.4 987.1 and was 120,000 mikes when I sold it.

bearing in mind you can get a sensible mikes 987.2 2.9 for the £12k mark, if you want to sell it you would need to be looking at sub 10k in my opinion.

list it for a price you want, if it doesn’t sell, then the price needs to be lower

Zacly. I wonder if the 5.0 would know enough to be bothered to run the plate and see the actual reg year of the car.

They would not need to, that plate is a 1998 reg so they would know it is not a pre 1972 car without checking
