Berni29
Hi Did many later 986's come with traction control? I thought it was an unusual option. A lot of these cars are getting scrapped, and I think that will keep prices stable. They are quite a desirable car after all. Berni

The only year 986Ss came without traction control was MY2000 (also recognised by an all-silver steering wheel crest, 'moon' digital elements in the dials and manual/non-electric boot & frunk openers). I'm not sure about 2.7s but believe they all had TC. I think it was an option on 2.5s. I'll happily stand corrected re. the 2.7s & 2.5s but am confident re. the 3.2s. Cheers, Baggers. Berni I test drove over a dozen 986 before buying mine and if my memory serves me correctly only one had Traction Control, in 2000 it was an £850 option. Although guess they all have TC really, just depends whose right foot is controlling it.
edc
Traction control was on the earlier cars but the later cars PSM came in.

This^^, @map car has to be seen to be believed, not the prettiest of cars to look at but mechanically head and shoulders above most, and would give most 911's a run for their money, closest thing to an "Outlaw" Boxster ive seen, Magnus Walker would be proud. Further to subsequent responses and a little tinterweb research, my two posts above should be considered 'complete b011ocks'. Sorry. I'm not sure where I gleened my supposed understanding that only the very earliest 986s (i.e. 2.5s and MY2000 3.2s) were truly 'analogue'. I'm very pleased to learn that most 986s were - and it was only an option to make them less so. This evening feels a little like realising my time at Sunday School wasn't right. It was kind of nice to have the knowledge I thought I had, for the time I had it. But I shan't carry it any further. Cheers, Baggers.
Freddie
Just chiming in, my '99 2.5 has the TC button, 222 ASR and 224 ABD options. Also cable boot and bonnet release, nice and clunky, suits my temperament!

Mine is a 2000 car which was factory fitted with Litronics but they are clear... guess someone did an expensive change or Litronics never came with amber? They also changed the tail lights.
